Let's Talk About Ban Disputes

So recently I've been noticing a few people making threads saying they were sorry for hacking and if they could appeal it. Every time (Or at least every time I've seen) they always get a link to the ban disputes section and the thread gets locked. I'm amazed this seems to keep happening and for a pretty obvious reason: Ban disputes are only meant to be filed if you felt you were banned unfairly. Not if you want to be unbanned.
This is an example of what I'm talking about: (Also, Dark, no offense to you. You seem very mature and I'm guessing this was more so a slip-up than anything)

So from this post we clearly see that the user was banned for hacking (He blatantly admits to it). So I'm wondering in cases like this, how come the staff doesn't just explain that they can't appeal a ban unless they feel it was unfair? I've been noticing that staff members occasionally don't take the time to fully explain things and rather just read the words "banned" and "appeal" and just toss a link at them.

Once again, I'm not mad at the staff in the least, but I can't imagine how frustrating it would be to a member to be told to make a ban dispute in a certain category only to have it denied for obvious reasons. In a sense, a innocent individual who feels sorry for his actions is being mislead: and that's not something I like to see honestly.

Also, kudos to Schuckle for being courteous enough to take the time to go on the forums and without raging make a polite thread. It shows the guy really does want to change for the better as well as the fact that he really enjoys the game and cares about it, and I'm happy for him. I know it's a video game but still, considering what most people might do, that's something he should be proud of.

Mods sometimes forget this and they don't take seriously (no offence to anyone, it's a mistake) that the ban appeals are for people who feel it was unfair. Now, this is getting really annoying, as every Discussion-Thread-Group I go to, I have to see in every page at least one of these. I think everytime someone posts one of these threads, the thread should get deleted and the OP (Original Poster) should take a PM from the mod that deleted the thread to post a ban appeal if he feels his ban was unfair.

Here is my take on this.

All players that are banned from the MCSG servers for hacking are first dealt a 7 day ban.

They are then allowed back on the servers.

If they are caught hacking again, called a "2nd offense" they are then, permanently banned from the servers.

MCSG forgave them once already.

Fine I say, they are sorry for what they did, and are genuinely annoyed with themselves for not taking MCSG's first gift of forgiveness. For these players, I reccomend, hop on the TeamSpeak, poke a Senior Mod, I recommend all of them, though I keep DracoHD as a favorite, and talk to them about your situation. They are very understanding, and if you are truly sincere, they may give you a third chance. However, this may not always happen. Forgiveness has been given once.

Do not expect it again.

Edit: If you are banned for something else, like threats of DDoS, do not expect any sympathy. These threats are taken seriously and you will be punished accordingly. You deserve what you get.

Well unfortunately, there's not much else to tell him rather than "too bad." Not sure how much you would like mods saying that. There's nothing else to tell banned people other than that.

Hmm, here is my take on the situation (the one provided with darknightzz and shuckle): Shuckle asked for the ban dispute link, and I would give it too him. Sure, I probably would say, "If you feel you have been banned unfairly, you can dispute it here ____". I don't feel like it is my job to say that they shouldn't make an appeal because it would be shot down in 99% of the cases. What I'm saying is that everyone deserves a ban dispute, and the Sr. Staff will decide the outcome.

Demonsushi is right, they are permanently banned from the servers if they are caught a second time hacking, and if they hack 2 times who tells that they woun't hacks again??? If that person was permanently banned the moderator just did his job, locked the thread as he didn't respect the community by hacking a 2nd time after being warned...

If that person was permanently banned the moderator just did his job, locked the thread as he didn't respect the community by hacking a 2nd time after being warned...

This is what should happen, but ban disputes are for people that think that didn't do anything but got banned anyway.

He said to go to that link, because that is the only thing that everyone is able to do about being banned, if you have been banned well, than you can't do nothing more. Rules are rules, and I agree with that one ;D
