This community is amazing. Seriously look how far we have come. It was only march 2012 that MCSG started up and now look at us! The people here are awesome, we have more servers then you can poke a diamond sword at in 4 different major parts of the world: The US, Canada, Europe and Australia, as well as a creative server and a survival server that's under development. Our numbers have increased so dramatically in the past year that (and I just found this out from Chad himself) that we currently have more people on our forums then any other Minecraft community IN THE WORLD! technically making us the Number 1 Minecraft community in the world....um...wow..
And just now the awesome development team have released MCSG version 2, and my word have they outdone themselves. The whole thing runs better and more efficiently then ever before, sure they still have a few bugs to fix and a few features are yet to show up but with these guys on the case we know it wont be long till they have it all sorted.

Ok so now that I have that all out of the way you are probably thinking about the title of this post, particularly the part that goes "...Now what?"
You are also probably thinking: "Well duh! Now we go play some MCSG for hours on end" And you would be exactly right, however that's not what I mean. This community has come so far in the last year, I first joined within a few weeks of it starting up and trust me its been amazing watching it grow, and thinking back on all of this has got me thinking:
What Happens now? Where do we go from here? How do we improve when we have just finished making what once seemed like the impossible happen?

This is what I want to put to all of you. Now that we have come so far, what do you think the future holds for MCSG?
Will we continue to flourish and be the number 1 Minecraft community of all time, Its not an impossibility
or will we come to a halt, have our numbers crumble and slowly disappear until we become nothing more then a distant memory (wow that was hard to type) again its happened to community's before, it could happen (but God I hope not).
I should also mention that MCSG is approaching its 1 year anniversary in the next month so we might have something big happen then but for now I want to find out what you all think.

So now its time for your input: Where do you think we are headed? How much bigger will we become? and will we remain number 1? Its worth thinking about. I personally believe we can go a lot further yet, I am just not sure how exactly, however I do know that I look forward to seeing what happens and that I am truly glad to be a part of it.
So with all that said: Good luck MCSG and all the best for the future.
(wow this was a long post, congrats if you read it all)

Survival Games is actually an extremely basic PvP idea. Essentially a giant free for all, which is indeed what nearly everyone likes. Because of this, I can only see MCSG grow, especially once Catching Fire is released in theaters. Obviously, horrible things can happen, like the owner abandoning ship without giving the server a proper owner, but that's just hypothetical.

You are probably right, when Catching Fire part 1 comes out (apparently they are making book 2 into 2 parts) the community may explode all over again. I look forward to it.

I joined right after the first hungergames movie... It was a huge increase of members by then... And probably the same will happen with the new movie, I hope that I will be part of this community for a long time. It is great here, I've made friends.

Hmm.. the 1 year anniversary... A CHAD STREAM!

The release of the movie lead to an almost overnight increase in the number of members, seriously it was huge and catching fire part 1 will probably lead to even more members. Its gona be fun.

Aren't they making Book 3 into 2 parts, not Book 2?

I don't know. The internet says it was an April Fools joke for last year..

Here, a direct quote from Wikipedia:
