When MCSG had long lobbies, people were smart, tactical, games felt important as there was a lot of build up and people wanted to do the best possible, because game time was limited due to donors. It could take me up to an hour to get in a game when it was based on points getting you into a lobby, and made it hard for new players to improve. Now thanks to the short lobbies this problem has been removed on the most part, but games are shorter and less competitive as a result. TO make games feel more important, like a real hunger games, I suggest a "prize" for the top 3 tributes.
This is subjective but I'd propose these amounts.
3rd: 50 points
2nd: 75 points
1st: 150 points
People may argue that people will hide until deathmatch, but they won't get the higher points. This could just be given to the winner, but I think the top 3 would make a lot of people play smarter and more tactically, making for more unpredictable games with a higher standard of play.
