Regional Contest

Now I'm not sure whether this should go in discussion or feature suggestions and I know this idea has been suggested a lot but I have never really been able to find the answer. I don't know if I am wasting my time suggesting this idea but I would also like the community to give their feedback. So this could happen on either the current servers or other servers but if this event was to go ahead then I think the best servers to host it on will be organised. So, the top 24 players from each individual region go up against each other in an epic battle. By this I mean the top 24 US players play on a US server, the top 24 AU Players play on an AU server and so on. Now this could work in 3 ways and this is where I need the community's ideas. There could be 12 teams of 2. #1 would team with #24, #2 would team with #23 and so on. Another way of doing this is randomly selected teams by all the staff members from that region. Finally this could be done by everyone just going solo. The winners of this tournament from each region should be recognised in a news and announcement post and also rewarded with a donor/V.I.P. I am sorry if many other people have suggested this idea but I am really interested to see if this could go forward.

Seems like a good idea... But if they do do this, they should probably make the server capacity a bit bigger so that people could spectate.

It isn't much more aside from perinate donor, I think it is only equalivent to iron donor.

Good idea, but the only winnings should be a front page notice and self accomplishment. Giving away ranks would add to the giant cluster of V.I.Ps we already have.

Well... I guess the benefits are both the same whether you're an iron donor or a VIP, but when you think about it, there are much more iron donors than VIP's, so would you choose common iron donor or rarer VIP?

VIP is a rank which means you have contributed to the servers, you have done something special to make you important.

Winning games which have a huge luck factor does not make you special to the servers in my opinion.

I really like the idea. I would definatly tune in, but giving away ranks indeed does seem a bit stupid.

Yeah, that's the requirement for V.I.P to contribute something to MCSG, (map, players, etc)

Shout out on the front page by the man himself would be worth more than simple iron donator in my opinion.

When the day comes where Internet is able to give amazing connection across the world to allow players from other regions to play with each other with little lag... One day... :c
