So, there is obviously terrible maps on the servers which almost everyone who has common sense hates. Over the past few weeks, there have been many threads regarding the issue, but most of the time the staff brush it away.
Before the map gets added onto the servers
- A map is chosen by Senior Staff as a possible new community map.
- The map is posted in the 'Minor Announcements' section, asking that players download the map and explore it in single-player. Once done, they can then vote ' Yes, we want the map' or ' No, we want to kill it with fire'
- Once the results have been calculated, the map is then explored by members of the leading build teams and they will give their suggestions and thoughts.

If the map is majority voted yes, then the map would through the normal protocol for entry into the datacentres. If no, the map won't be added and you will have a ticked off map-builder. You win some, you lose some.

The maps currently on the servers
-Take a week long review of how many times a certain map is played on any given server. Perhaps one from each region. Once this is done, you should have an easy graph of the popular maps which everyone loves and enjoys playing and the not so popular ones.
- Post a thread in the 'Minor Announcements' once again, with a poll of all the maps which were disliked and not played often. Players can then vote which of the maps listed they want removed. Allow multiple options, as if they aren't played much in-game, then most people on the forums would dislike it.

These are just my ideas. I have no knowledge on how maps are chosen.

I like the idea, but I have to ask. Which of the current maps are considered bad, and what makes them bad? The reason I ask is because there has been a lot of concern over poor-quality maps lately, and I'm curious which ones are causing the uproar. Was it simply too many maps added too quickly before the community was able to adjust to the new ones, causing them to feel less special? Or are the new maps missing something in particular?

Exactly what FuSioNzZ said. Look at Teweran 1 or 2, they rival Team Variede's build team, yet they are not played very often.

Most definitely. We need a way to filter through the bad maps while also giving the community a say in what's going on.

Wait, just because a map is underplayed doesn't mean its bad. Take SG2 for example. Its probably one of the best maps on the servers, even though its not played that often.

I played SG2 about 4 times yesterday, and 3 times today in 2 hours

I agree, there should be a method to allow the community vote on which maps are allowed. The maps are made for the community, by the community; why not let the community be the judges?
