He chose the people who he thought would make the event the most entertaining; with the highest level of skill. He didn't choose more teams because he wants this to be a quick, fun event, not something that takes all day.

he might as well have said that anyone who isn't forum/in-game famous might as well not bother applying til' season 2 when everyone from season 1 is gone

I didnt just accept famous people, i dont consider anyone on that list to be "famous". Like Zeno said, i dont even know some of the people on that list.

I accepted the people i KNOW would make this an interesting/enjoyable event, i apologize you didnt get in, the same goes for the rest of you. There's always next time.

To be honest, it's really bias. The only way of you knowing which people would make this an interesting event is if you knew them PvP wise, or just know them. You don't know people on that list, I get that, but maybe, if they apply first before other people, they shouldn't be then declined before so many other people got accepted afterwards.

People who often come first generally means they really want to get in, or, just really enthusiastic about this. If you wanted to make this tournament and include the people who you know have talent, then you should've just hosted it by PM'ing everyone. Don't just make a thread about something that never rarely happens and get everyone's hopes up just for them to get crushed. ;c.
