I think they should update the servers and bring us the 48-player-matches back, they should update all maps [I mean all] to 48 player.
I did the best and nicest matches in 48-player-matches.

I think those are gone for good... At least normally. Maybe a special event or two.

They are working on this, but they have other issues that take priority (such as fixing the lag and bugs created by switching to 1.5). When they are finished with that and pushing out a few other cool new things, then they'll turn their attention to 48 player servers.
