How can I get to know people?

Whats up my fellow MCSGers. I used to play on these servers when they first appeared and I played for a few months. I then stopped playing for personal reasons and have been trying to get back into this community properly. So I am trying to get to know people again.

So what are the best ways to get to know you guys. I think the forums are a bit to impersonal and I can't get a decent conversation started on TS before I am told to "get lost" or it ends in awkward silence. So.... wanna be friends?

Go onto teamspeak (ts.mcsg.in), try to skype team with people in-game. I can see why both of these would be hard to do, for some reason people in the community want to talk with people who have some sort of status as opposed to personality. I think that your best bet would probably be to apply for a clan.

Apply for a clan that regularly plays together and talks in Skype/TeamSpeak.

Just look around the TeamSpeak channels for someone you know, and join and try to talk to them.
Something I like to do for players is bring them up into the mod channels so they can get to know some of us, if they're having a hard time getting along. Seeing as most people are afraid to talk to us, if you're confident with us, you'll be confident with anyone!

You don't need to be in a decent clan. If the people in it are nice and willing to converse with newer clan members, they're better than most.

Basically talk to people in game, and ask if people want to team. Don't be pesky- ask once. If they say no, nevermind. If they say yes, you've got a teammate! Sometimes you forget about these people, but sometimes some stick and you become good friends!

I made my friends on the forums. By being active and posting a lot, I found people with similar views/senses of humor who I seemed to get along with, and then we started playing one day. We slowly got more people in our group and now I have lots of friends.

There really is no 'best' way to meet someone.

Back when I first started playing MCSG, I NEVER teamed with anyone. One day, I was playing on SG2, and two players named Antster360 and Zeejayy joined my game. After the game, they invited me to go on the MCSG teamspeak server because they wanted to play with me after seeing I was skilled at the game. I was hesitant at first, but I sure am glad I did. To this day I am still good friends with Antster360 and, although to a much lesser extent, Zeejayy/Rivalize.

That is just a couple of the many great people I have met throughout the past year here at MCSG. Some friends, I still keep in touch with...Others, I hardly talk to anymore for unfortunate reasons. Perhaps one day, they might just come back and to relive all the fun times we had.

Nonetheless, as I always like to say..."Its the people you meet along life's way that make your journey brighter".
