How Do People Become Moderators?

I was on the servers the other day when i realized that somebody had a red name. I asked them how they got it and they said that they were a moderator. I went to the website to see other mods and there were a lot. Then i asked myself: "Maybe I Could Be A Moderator If I Tried" The i realized that i didn't know how to become/apply to be one... So basically all i want to know is how to become a moderator.

Currently applications are closed and no new moderators are being accepted. Normally you can apply in the MCSG Applications section (under General Support).
