Chasing depends on the reason. If you're going to chase somebody who has the most points in a game, then you're doing it wrong. If you're going to chase somebody who has an item that you absolutely need to advance yourself in the game, or you're one more kill away from deathmatch, then you have the right idea.

People have the right to do whatever strategy they want in game. (Unless you're hacking you cheating noobs. -_-) If you're going to chase somebody for no reason, it's not like you can't do it. It's just an extremely stupid strategy to use, since you're not advancing yourself in game, and what are you gonna earn out of it? 300 points that you're just gonna lose anyway? It's basically giving up the chance to win a game, which would be much more rewarding in itself rather than getting something that nobody will really care about.

Then on the opposite side of the spectrum you have runners. Like I said, they can do it, but believe it or not it's probably a worse strategy than chasing. Unless you know in your mind you can absolutely not kill the person chasing you in any way, then you can run. But if you have decent gear, and you're kind of equal with the guy running after you, you're only limiting yourself on what you can do. Cause after a long time of running you're going to get hungry and you're going to need to stop, and that person will get a bunch of hits on you. Where if you turned around, prepared yourself, and attacked, you would have a much larger chance than if you just kept running.

In conclusion, people can do whatever the heck they want in game. Whether it be running like a Cheetah, or chasing like a madman, they can do it. It's just widely considered to be a dumb strategy except for those who do it. Most points that PLG brought up here I can agree with, and I hope that most new players will realize that maybe it isn't a bad thing to NOT go after the guy with the most points.

I'm on both sides of this argument.... I agree, trying to kill for points is useless, but there comes is a problem with the people being chased - They don't stop and fight.
If someone has a weak weapon and a bit of armor they have a slight chance to kill whoevers chasing them. The thing with the players latly is that they seem to see the game based on what you have, not your skill. I've surprised many teams and killed them, not by element of surprise, just because I had the guts to fight them. To those of you on the fleeing side of the battle, fight back. When in a hurry, people tend to miss many things, it's easy to kill someone using a long fall, or a trap. Flint and steel is great if you have acsess to it. A great strategy to use if you can't stand up to them and fight head on (because your too weak) is to spin around mid run and get as many hits as possible on them. I've killed many 'Chasers' this way, so believe me, it works.
To those who chase, like Plg said, it's useless to do so WITHOUT A CAUSE. To simply chase someone for a single kill, or points is useless. I tend to do this only if it's easy to corner the player, and they have no chance to defend themselves. I generally will chase people down if they have armor/items I want, that is, if I'm powerful enough to get the items. As for people running from Pvp battles, same rule applys - don't waste hunger, only run if you need to. Not being able to regen is one of the worst things to happen within a game, and one of the easiest to let happen.
Non-the-less, I'm getting on a rant.
All this will be covered in an upcoming "Full MCSG strategy guide video" I've been working on, I've been gather clips for 2+ weeks.

Lol. I'm not trying to be like G33ke. If I need to make a post to express everything I want to say in the most logical way possible, it's got to be long. :p
This. People can make long posts besides G33ke, and for reasons other than trying to emulate G33ke. People who make long posts do so because they have opinions they wish to express. Kind of wish that long posts would be viewed as that: an opinion in it's own right, with a valid argument and counter argument, rather than a 'G33ke post'. The tendency with these kind of posts I feel, is for people not to comment on the actual material, but rather just make a comment on the length of the post, and a reference to G33ke. This is not the way things should be done. Long posts should spark more discussion, not act as the final word in a conversation. Allowing a long post to completely dominate a discussion due purely to the fact that it is long is wrong.

Just my two cents on long posts.
