Okay, so I have a Razer Naga with the buttons on the side. I think it's macros, but I don't know. Am I allowed to use that? I don't want to get banned so I was just wondering. Thanks!

Re-assigning a button is fine, aslong as the buttons on the side of your mouse don't perform more then one action.
This means that using for example the button 1 to switch to your sword is fine to use.

However, making a macro to automatically place down fire with Flint and steel ( which is more then 1 action : select FnS=>place fire ) is not alright to use.

You can use them.
As long as you are not programming a button on your mouse to do something more than once, you're fine.
(For example, pressing 4 to switch to FnS AND placing it just by using button 4)

Sorry if my explanation was confusing, clicking 1 for your sword and 2 for your rod etc. is fine
