PS3 would have minecraft ages ago if it wasn't for Microsoft's exclusivity deal with Mojang which meant that Xbox was the only console which had permission to have a minecraft edition. Now that their deal is over, minecraft can be made for PS3 and PS4.
Minecraft isn't the only game which gives PS4 a boost over Xbox One. Look at the PS4 free-to-play lineup and the starting game lineup, it's just epic. I'm looking forwards to Warframe and Planetside 2
