True. I have very good download for Australia, and horrible upload. It does make a difference though, if I flank and strafe around an opponent sometimes I can see them hitting slightly to were I was a second ago due to the upload, but I can see pretty clearly where they are most of the time due to the download. People with a good connection are usually at an advantage, but sometimes laggier players have the advantage.

could possibly make another category for ping?
I get like 600-1000 ms to the servers but my download speed is reasonable at like 1.5 and upload of 1.

but seeing as the NBN is rolling out I will have 50 download and 20 upload by next month. :3

Just in case you didn't know,
On optifine you can set your FPS to VSync, Max FPS, or a number of your choice. Most people assume that Max FPS is the better option BUT IT ISNT! Use VSync! There is no point hitting 1000234235235 FPS if your monitor can only display 60 (like mine). For the smoothest possible gameplay you have to use VSync.
