The following thread is an idea by my brother, and I have decided to develop this idea. Please remember that this is just an idea, and has not been authorized or set for a date at the current time. I will write down these applications if this occurs in the future.

NOTE: I apologize for severe lack of information in some areas, this thread was created hastily due to the need to do HW.

MCSG Is a great server. However, its lacking in the actual representation of the hunger games. I'm not saying this is bad, because what i'm suggesting would not be available to a mass amount of people.
I bet most of you have seen the Hunger Games or read the book. The actual games had nothing to do than just joining a lobby, voting a map, getting chest route developed, and eventually winning. This all happens in a time period of around 10-40 minutes.
But the Actual games? From my memory, they went for 5-6 days. Teams would to assign watch duties, etc. People would actually go to sleep in these games, they weren't quick events.
So this is what i'm suggesting. Why not making a one time "Hunger Games" where almost all of the specifications in the book are followed? There would be the tribute rating at the start, People would have to sleep during the games, etc.

The following sections will be the various people of the Hunger Games. This includes gamemakers, tributes, sponsors, etc. They will be application only, but certain restrictions will be taken.

|Tributes|
Tributes, like in the movie, will be "reaped". This means, people can apply for one district, and they have a chance at getting "reaped". There will be a girl and boy for each district, even if this means moving a few people. There may also be a mandatory skin for each district.
There isn't a current wins cap, however people with lowed win amounts would be prefered. This is because most people with about 500+ are well known, and sponsors would prefer them over others, which is unfair.
Below is the list of the various districts and how many people are signed up. The numbers are currently random

This is perhaps the most difficult job to assign. In the book and movie, sponsors sent down packages to tributes in need. The sponsor feature of these games would feature something similar.
Sponsor will first start out by watching the trainers. This is the point where they will chose who they want to sponsor.
Each sponsor will get a certain amount of "money", most likely golden ingots or something. Each item in the game, or useful item that is, will be assigned a price. The sponsors will have to buy this item, then it will be sent. Check rewards section for sponsoring rewards.

Over the course of these games, we will be using teamspeak to conduct activities. Tributes will have about 30 minutes after the training sessions to create alliances.
Once these alliances are created, there will be a teamspeak group created for this alliance. This group will create a password so that other tributes cannot join and listen in. Remember to share this password with the gamemasters so they can listen in to whats going on.
Once a person dies, they must leave the teamspeak and join the group called "Dead tributes". If a tribute has to go to bed or what not, it is fine to leave. In this section, gamemasters may move a dead tribute to the gamemaster group so they can talk about what happened in the game.

In the hunger games, the winner received a reward for his/her district. This will be the same for this game. The winner will receive a lifetime diamond donor reward for MCSG. If for some reason the winner already has this, then they may request a similar prize less that 75$ (the price of a lifetime donor)
Prizes for 2nd and 3rd may be giving out. In the hunger games, these tributes didn't get anything because they died, but the time needed and the whole ordeal should reward the tributes who make it to the top 3.
There may also be a sponsoring reward, for the sponsors who reward the winning tribute in their time of need. In the book, the sponsors would be able to say that they sponsored the winning tribute, which would help their business and what not. This can't happen in these games, so there will be some reward for the good sponsors.

The features map is going to be around 2000 blocks wide, leaving room for players and teams to walk around. This will prolong the match, but on the downside might provoke more boredom. Things like mobs and such will be in the map.

One thing necessary to simulate the minecraft survival games would be mods. There probably won't be any server side mods, but mods like BSM will most likely be allowed due to Toggle Shift, which is probably necessary for people having to go to sleep. This would also mean that the games will probably be played on 1.6.

This is the end of the sample thread. Please comment about improvements or such, and how you would like it. As of now, this may not even happen, I just want to know if this kind of a thing would be cool.
