What's up with the EU servers?

Last week the servers were more or less lag free and it was great. However this week I can't do anything. Playing on survival kingdom, I lagged so hard that I missed refill, let another guy grab all the chests and hit me down to one and a half hearts. I also lost in deathmatch on TSG2 with a diamond sword and helmet, simply because wherever I swung was 2 seconds or so behind my opponents' position.

Has anything been changed that may have caused this, or is it my connection? I'm just curious. Still love the servers.

All the servers are pretty laggy right now. I think they are trying t put out a fix. I still don't know what ddos is? Can someone tell me?

I believe it's when someone is attacking the servers purposely to get them to lag.. but that's probably not a very good defenition, I'm not good with technical stuff.
