On one hand, you may get some friends from Bajan/Jerome fans. On the other hand, some more so-called "experienced" players might give you hate, saying Bajan/Jerome hacked (BSM), or were bad, or ruined MCSG, etc.
However, it's up to you whether or not to give in to the pressure.
No one is forcing you to, and you will not run any risks by NOT changing your name.
