Are clans for friends or to rise to be #1?

What do you think about clans? Are they more about friends for you, and meeting new ones, or about being super competitive and winning all your battles and becoming #1.
In my opinion, I like a good mix of both, I like to be competitive w/ my friends, but when it comes to kicking my friends to become more competitive, I feel that's wrong. What does everyone else think?

I play for the friends, but you can tell some clans are really competitive when they have like 3-4 stages to being accepted

We'll I feel like clans are meant to be for the friends but they are being competitive at the same time there is a time and a place for being competitive and for making friends and having fun.

In my opinion, they should just be for friends, but due to some changes on mcsg, things have started getting more competitive and now everyone wants to be at the top, so the majority of clans are all for competitivity, which is sad since this is just a game.
But hey, if people are happy with the clan that they're in, or that they're leading, then they should stick with that.
