Ok I think this might be called boosting but please help me understand why people see a stacked person and team up for the rest of the game to kill them then just stay as a team. It happens a lot and I think that it is very stupid. For instance If I get good gear, people will see me, go to another player, block and then try to kill me. I don't understand it. Also I have seen teams of up to 5 form.

(I am not mad at people who team but only the random teams that form ingame)

It is just a strategy I guess, I have never seen this happen in game though so I don't have much of an opinion on the topic

Happened to me yesterday; I'm in full chain with a wood sword, and there's a full iron guy chasing me, with an iron sword. I see another full iron (except boots) guy in the distance, so I try to run the guy chasing me into that person. After they get close, they team on ME, the understacked guy, to kill me. They both had relatively good stats, as well.

I guess it's just bad luck.

Well, it is really for two reasons that this usually occurs. The first could be that they are scared of you and would like to team to have a better chance to kill you. The second reason for this could be because the person who initially asked to team in the first place wants the win more than anyone else in the game. Just to save himself he would team. Just like Jtmboy mentioned above, this is a great way of strategy to win the game, but could be bad luck on your behalf. But don't worry! If this happens to you again don't let your rage interfere with your enjoyment of SG. Just move to another game and try again! ;)

Just so you understand, the block sign is a globally-known symbol for a team or a truce. This is used if a player is trying to kill another player but cannot, and decide to get help from another player.
People who do this tactic are sometimes considered noobs, but teaming and trucing are a strategy that a lot of people use to win the Hunger Games.
Boosting is something different. It is when you repetitively team up with someone to dominate the game, and then they give the win to you instead of fighting it out evenly. Sometimes these teams can go up to 5-6 players just to boost one player's stats. Some people even go as far as employing hackers to defend them, and then do /kill to let them win.
Basically, people do this tactic if they think they cannot beat someone, so they team up to gain an advantage. Although it can backfire, most of the time the tactic works.
If this happens to you, take it as a compliment. They must think that you are quite decent!

Why are these guys writing novels here?^

Honestly, if you are playing MCSG, expect getting teamed on in every situation, that's what I do, so it doesn't surprise me and I don't need to make pointless threads on the forums

I don't think your attitude is really necessary...
The people above you were explaining and answering what Andrew asked. If anything is pointless it's your comment.

I am sincerely sorry, I didn't mean it in a bad way. See, we are all human(homo sapiens) and by that I mean we are living things. Minecraft is a game we all enjoy. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Have a nice day on the MCGamer Network forums! :)

This is simply just a strategy, teaming to take down the better stacked player. I find it a hassle to try and take down these randomly formed teams, but they happen. It's just a part of the game sadly. Just play smart and you can take them down!

Teaming in my opinion is smart. It gives the people a better advantage however a "challenge" for a single user. Having challenges pushes you to work harder and you never know what could happen.
