Now, I'm quite aware that we actually have a lot of maps to play in. For a while, I was actually more than satisfied with the map selection. But the sad reality, at least in the servers I visit, is that if 4 or Breeze aren't in the list of maps to vote for, everyone skipvotes until they are and then it's just those 2 maps every game. I would love to give my opinion on the 5th official map, I really would, but I simply haven't managed to join a server that's willing to vote for the 5th map.

This is not only a trend I abhor, but one I cannot understand. Has it risen out of ruthless practicality, because people don't want to have to prepare several different chest routes and complex strategies on large-scale maps? Or is it because they've grown tired of long rounds and simply prefer 10-minute bloodbaths in a small arena to save time? Perhaps a select few prefer these maps for the reasons above, and have most effectively manipulated a complicit, apathetic majority into agreeing with them.

Never mind, my rant is sounding almost conspiratorial now. I remember a time when a new map was introduced, everyone would vote for it. The perceived quality of the map didn't really matter. This trend has reversed, and now people are much more likely to vote for 'classics' like the 2nd map or Breeze Island than, say, Survival Kingdom. In fact, 4's popularity would be surprising if not for its small size. In fact, 'small' or 'classic' are the 2 words I hear most often when I ask why people prefer these maps so much.

Anyways, thanks for (presumably) bothering to read all of this rambly nonsense. What do you think? Is this a problem? Will it only be temporary? Or am I just delusional and none of this is actually happening? I would love to hear the rest of the community's thoughts on this.

holy moly... That was pretty cool XD You pretty much nailed it exactly. I could never really put my finger on exactly why SG4 and breeze island are the only maps played but you did it. A jolly good read to if I say so myself. Virtual high 5

One time when I asked why everyone hated SG2 and loved SG4 and breeze. They said it was because SG2 had too little chests. Which makes no sense since I am pretty sure it has the most chests out of all the maps.

It does. It has SO many chests, more than SG4 and Breeze combined. SG2 FTW!

Yes it's a problem. No I don't think it will be temporary if something isn't done about it. No, you are not delusional at all. Nice rant.;)

I havent played SG2 is two months... My favorite map... And SG4, classic? That is just wierd... I find the SG1,SG2 and SG3 classic... And that is alot more true. There was alot of community maps and the three first beofre SG4 was. People vote it because it is chests everwhere they look, while in SG2, new people go to big houses, while average people all go to the town or church. Then they get killed by people who knows big routes.
That is the majority of the community not liking SG2.
When it comes to SG1, it is just big, and 40% of the people wander in the wild, 30% people have bad chest routes (half of them don't like the map) and 30% have good or average chest routes and only like 5% of them don't like it.
In SG3, it is just SO difficult to find a good route. which I have. So that is why 95% of the community don't like it.

When it comes to breeze and SG4, the reason is that:
First when breeze was out, everyone wanted to try it (first ever community map)
Then, it was played alot and long because the size, people found the three vareide maps big and with little chests. And new players got to mostly play it, so they found it the only map they had chestroutes on.
When SG4 was out, people wanted to try it. They created a vote system where it was only that and ONE other map. Then everyone who did not want the other map voted it, including these who wanted it. And therefor, most new players only got to play it, that made it "Classic". Now alot of people only has routes there, and these who doesn't want the other maps in the voting votes it.

So it happened. #BlameAlwaysSG4votesystem.

Breeze is voted because people want to play breeze. It's as simple as that.

I take this, but added on a few more tier 2's ;)

Try the sewers and subway.

Those I have! My route only has building house, factory, hospital, burning forest, and the sewers. Sometimes I go to subway too. After that I just take some random chests (mostly tier 2)
