Hey guys! Its Hailey and a few people wanted me to post this thread because ever since I posted that other thread about how to be a good MCSG player (non skill-wise) people were like 'wait wut this isn't skill wth' so now I'm actually going to do something about it, so here you go!
How to Be a Good MCSG Player
So, the first thing I would like to point out, is points do not mean skill! What I mean by this, is when people tell you that you can not win because you have zero points, you prove them wrong by killing them (in a game of course)! Because one has a lot of points and you may have, like, none, that doesn't mean you can kick someones booty, okay? Okay. So fighting them may be hard, but it is possible. But only if you're doing it right!
First off, have a good PVP texture pack. The texture pack I'm currently using is the 'Black Yeti' texture pack (well, now its called a resource pack, but whatever) but there are other packs that I would recommend like the Huawhi 64x64 pack. Please note that you do not need a texture pack, but I would say they help with PVP and especially if you think the default pack is boring. Because I do.
Secondly, your hot bar. If you don't know what your hot bar is, its the thing at the bottom of the screen in the middle, it holds all of your items and stuff. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. So you should make sure that's organized, just so that you can get the weapon or secondary weapon that you need (Sword, bow, fishing rod, flint and steel). So the way I have it, is in the first box, I have my bow, second box is my sword, third is my flint and steel, and then its the fishing rod.
Next, how and when to use these items. So, lets say, you see someone from a distance and they see you too. So what do you use? If you said anything other than bow you're wrong and this thread is too advanced for you. But, yeah, ultimately, you would use the bow. If the opponent is moving around, you have to try to be a psychic and predict their next move, this way you'll know where to aim. But, I do admit that some people are better with using the bow than others, but you'll get the hang of it with time, trust me. You can also use the bow if the opponent is getting too close to you and you need them to go away so you can re-generate your hearts, but you can also use the fishing rod for this. You can also use the fishing rod to hit people into things to slow them down when your chasing them so you can get some good hits on them. Another way you can slow them down is by using the flint and steel. If you use the flint and steel to set someone on fire (hah) it will slow them down and you can catch up to them. This also works if you're being chased. Now of course, if you're getting closer to the player, (within, like, 6 blocks) that is when you would use your sword, try strafing. Strafing is moving around the player so that you can hit them, but they can not hit you. Also, I would like to add that you should never underestimate ANY weapon EVER. A wooden sword is still a sword and you can kill people with it. Same goes for any other weapon.
So, I'd say thats about all that I have for you. Let me know if you've got any questions you'd like to ask, and I'd be happy to answer them
!
But yeah, byeeee
