Hello there.
As some of you may know, I am CraftyKratonite, but everybody calls me Crafty, or Cruftuh, or Slave.
Right now, as I am typing this out, I am currently #34th in the US leaderboards which is in my opinion, a pretty good milestone. I want to actually talk about how I got started with MCSG, and my struggles, adventures, lol'ing and much more.
All right, where do I start... should I start on when I discovered these amazing servers? or MCSG in general? I'll start from the very begining.
APRIL/MAY - This is when I discovered the Survival Games, I just finished watching the Hunger Games movie and read all the books and I was HOOKED. My friend, knowing that I liked the Books and the Movie mentioned "Hunger Games Servers" on Minecraft, which then, and still now is my favorite game. I searched on Youtube for videos on "Minecraft Hunger Games" and I eventually found CaptainSparklez's video with the rest of the Machinima crew on the Survival Games. I watched almost all of their POV's.
I looked hard for servers and stumbled upon a server on MinecraftForums.net called "Doozy's Survival Games servers". I typed in the IP and joined. It wasn't one of those Automatic SG servers where you click the join and get teleported to the Map, it was a small server, usually would have 18 people at the most, everytime the match ended, the owner would have to restart the server. The owner of those servers were two people named Doozy and LunaticLawyer, they were basically in charge. I played on those servers for about a month then for some odd reason, Doozy quit Minecraft and that ended my time there. Some people from there actually play on these servers, only two names come to mind and it's illumina1337 and HarborSealPuP. I'm not sure about HarborSeal, it may have been someone else with a similar name, but I remember that person who was on Doozy's server was in The Blamph's.
JUNE/ JULY - My addiction to MCSG died out after that and I started playing Cookie Slap and MineZ. I would occasionally look for a server to play on for a game or two, but I would probably leave the servers as most of them were either laggy (NOTE: For some of you who don't know me that well, I live in Asia. And no, I'm not chinese and I don't look like one either xD) I eventually found an Automatic SG server called "BaxterDogs Server" It had PvP, SG, Paintball and CTF and I stayed there for about a month untill I eventually left the server because the owner would make random people Admins, and the whole place screwed up.
And then one day, I decided to type Minecraft Survival Games on Google, looking for a video, but ending up finding this! I checked the forums out and made an account. I played a game and immediately got hooked to MCSG again, the servers were AMAZING, it was not laggy, everyone was calm, the Mods were active and it was just fun! (THIS WAS BACK IN 1.2.5) I was the noobiest player ever xD, It took me about 2 days to get my first win (Which I don't remember) and it was in SG1. I wasn't involved in the community yet but I played a lot and I just had fun, I didn't care about losing, or my w/d ratio, I just wanted to have fun.
AUGUST/SEPTEMBER - I was still a major noob and had about only 12-20 wins after a month, I was actually getting tired of losing all the time. I would see The Blamphs and The CyanVolts' clan battles and actually, got caught in the middle of one, it was Sg 2, in the Blamph's roster was Blamph, Zeejayy and HarborSeal (There were more, but I have forgotten their names) and in the CyanVolts' side there was The Great Tito and SunGodMonkey (All I could remember brom the Cyan's aswell) I did pretty well in the match, Zeejayy was being chased, he teamed with me in-game, I helped him a bit and then.......yes, you guessed right, he betrayed me D:. I still stayed to watch this fight, the most amazing part was in between the Giant Tree and The Pink house, at the river, SunGodMonkey was fighting both HarborSeal and Zeejayy, SunGod was doing quite well but was close to dying at one point, Zeejayy stops and tells HarborSeal to stop and he said this "Let's save him for later" later though, SunGodMonkey ended up defeating both HarborSeal and Zeejayy and Zeejayy was mad, he said in the spectator chat that he wanted to quit, that was one of the most amazing games I saw.
I had 2 major friends and teammates at that time period, TheMagicaos1, we never voice chatted but we've been great friends for about 2 months. and then there was RedStoneDragon who was probably my best buddeh, we recorded a lot of videos, MineZ, SG, Skyblock and much more, we've been friends since August and we're still really close at the current time.
And then the worst thing happened, I got banned. It was right after my 35th or so win. I had full iron armour and a Diamond sword, I beat a team of three in that match and a decked out person, in my opinion, that was my best match back then, some of the people I killed raged and called a mod, in the end I was banned for Aimbot and Speehacks, I don't blame them, it was a really laggy match for me and it may have looked like hacks but the Speedhacks was just not right, in the video (Which I am probably not allowed to post) didn't show any signs of speedhacks... so that added a few extra days to my ban. It was 1.3 when I got banned and the servers were really glitchy at the time. I eventually got unbanned.
OCTOBER/NOVEMBER - This was the most inactive SG time period for me, I started to team with Kameronl. who was ahead of me by 100 wins at the time (I had around 45) and Loopsguy, who is a really good player, but is inactive at the moment (Loopsguy was 200 wins ahead of me. He's around 100 wins below me now and passing him was one of my biggest achievements) It wasn't my best group of months aswell, the servers were a bit glitchy and laggier than normal, I was screwing up in a lot of games. I started recording Survival Games videos regularly and they were mostly on this time period. Nothing special really happened beside me and my videomaking.
DECEMBER/JANUARY - These Two months have been the best Two months of my Survival Games career. I was at 70 wins at the start of December and now at 330 wins at mid-January.
I just started booming with wins, I still had my nooby moments, but now whenever I'd join a server at least 2 people would ask me to team.
I got from #700th in the US leaderboards to in the top #50 in about a month.
I applied for The Elite Squad on early December and got in, it was my first MCSG clan. I had fun with the members, we played a lot of games and we're all a family. Some members didn't get along with me at one point and thus, making me leave...after about a month.
I started teaming with people from the #Rebels frequently now, Branbob, SoggyPickle, Tironas, Nickelodeonh(New member), Hiqhlights, Kerbals, Tomersch and much more. I eventually got in the #Rebels, and it was an amazing moment, coming home from school to see the "ACCEPTED, welcome to the Rebels" reply that came from my love, Branbob.
I am starting to take SG way more seriously now, I am way more active on the forums and on teamspeak than I was on the previous months, I've made more friends and some enemies as well, I am #34th in the leaderboards with 331 wins, it's been an amazing experience and an amazing ride, with fun friends to enjoy the moments with. I am tired of typing, it's been about 40 minutes, so I will stop here. I might make another one of these in a few motnths, but we'll see. I don't think I will stop playing SG anytime soon so the amazing experiance has only just begun.
