Good morning, MCGamer

In the wake of the events of yesterday, I wanted to take a moment to reflect upon all that has happened, and offer a suggestion. Many good staff members have resigned, and we’ve lost a lot of good people. As several staff members have indicated to me personally, this may only be the beginning. Several other resignations and assorted changes may be afoot in the coming days. Now, I know that the community is somewhat shaken over this – understandable considering the magnitude of what has taken place in such a short period of time.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking over what has happened. In my opinion, the one thing that this server needs in this difficult time is leadership. Chad has gone AWOL, most of the administrative team has left, and our lead developer is in the process of leaving as well. With all of these recent losses, coupled with the absence of the owner, I am of the opinion that MCGamer needs a leader. This leader should be somebody who knows the server inside and out, and knows what is best for the community and what they want. By completing these objectives, this leader can successfully bring back the network to what it once was, back in the glory days of 2013 and 2014.

Naturally, many of you may have your suggestions and picks for who it should be to lead the community back to its former glory. However, for my part there is only one person who should be tasked with leading the revival of MCGamer – I hope that many of you, whether you’re a staff member or a community member, will agree with me.

For me, that person is Dave. He was an admin for a long, long time before the server started to run downhill, and always stood for what was right in the community. I worked closely with him for a year and a half as a Sr. Staff member, and we’ve continued our working partnership as leaders of Team Elite. Obviously, during his time as an administrator there was some controversy surrounding him, with allegations ranging all across the board. However, this is only natural - it is to be expected due to the position that he held for so long. Haters will always hate.

In addition to this, Dave has the ear of Chad. He’s always been one of Chad’s closest friends. By utilizing this considerable influence on the owner, he will be able to fight for what the community really wants – which is the AU region back. I have it on good authority that Dave will personally inform Chad of the community’s wishes for the region to return as soon as possible, and will make sure that the act of returning the AU location to the network will be carried out.

Now, the question for you is this. Do you want real change in this community? Do you want to see it go back to what it formerly was? Or would you rather let it die out slowly, region by region, till there is nothing left of the old MCGamer? Dave is the man to lead MCGamer out of the ashes, and back into the light again. If you agree with me, voice your opinion down below. Let the staff team know that the community needs Dave to come back in order for us to become what we once were.

Much love, as always guys

This is the truth. The community needs to get what it wants. We are a Network, The network shouldn't be limited to Survival Games (Who plays the other irrelevant ones?)

Dave was probably one of the best admins that mcsg has ever seen. Do I think Dave could handle the responsibility again? Yeah. Will Chad ever see this? Eh probably not for a bit ;-;

You know, I really think you should stop commenting thoroughly on situations you really haven’t the slightest clue about all-around. Experience as a senior mod does not give you all-knowing power or insight, as much as you may believe it does. I’ve also already seen several bits of false/mis-informed information from you already.

[This portion has been slightly modified, so I’m editing it again with my own rewording.]
As far as Dave having Chad’s ear, this really is not the case. I don’t know what he may be telling you, but no one really tells Chad what to do or majorly influences his choices. Chad is Chad and makes his own decisions.[End modification]
As well, perhaps you believe him to be a good leader of TE, and perhaps maybe he is. That does not mean he’s fit to lead MCGamer, especially in a crisis state. I’ve had both fair and poor experiences with Dave, and my honest opinion is that, no, he should not be leading a Minecraft community.

People are leaving for various reasons and each person has, for the most part, thought their actions through. What they do is their decision, be it in the past or present.

One thing I’d like to leave here as well:
Devin has gone through hell and back several times for MCGamer’s benefit. Much of his life has been dedicated to this community and being a very close friend to him, I’ve had the chance to hear his side of the story. This needs to be recognized by a large amount of people, including you. Give him respect instead of public spotlight that may result in X problems being blamed on him. Seriously, it’s really not something he deserves. Has he always been perfect or is he? No, certainly not. Does he deserve to be part of your pity party? No, just stop.
I’ve also been a friend to Chad at one point or another, and I’ve seen the stress this community causes him. Not working for Chad directly myself but being close to some of those that do, I’ve seen multiple sides of his personality and personal, as well as work, ethics.
At this point, I think that Chad is severely stressed and really just wants to let MCGamer go. I may be wrong, though I think anyone not immediately involved needs to (frankly) shut up and sit back and let whatever is happening happen. Give Chad the time he needs to calm down and fix whatever he may or may not want to fix. Whether anyone likes it or not, it is his community and company and there’s nothing that will change that without his direct interference. In other words, whine and moan all you want, but you’re not changing anything by doing so.

As a side note: These thoughts are entirely my own and not representative of anyone or anything else. And, since you all love to think it so much, this is not meant to be a flame/hate response.

EDIT: As I know as well, several individuals love the “behind others backs” card, so keep in mind that what you say in private should at least slightly reflect what you’re saying to the public. ;)
