Hey fellow tributes...just a little thread I am started up revolving around a 'strategy'. I notice many people like to leave loot they don't 'need' in chests. For example, a player will have iron leggings. They go into a chest and find some chain leggings. Now, most of the people I know will usually leave the leggings in that chest due to the fact that they simply will not need them. My take on this-poor idea.
My reason is if you leave stuff in chests, another player is bound to get that stuff. This also goes for just dropping stuff into a 'trash pile' on the ground. "One man's trash is another man's treasure". Another example: Lets say you have a few cooked food items and you will presumably be good on food for the rest of the game. You decide to drop some extra uncooked porkchops on the ground/in a chest. Something that I can foresee happening is a player with good gear is low on food and needs to eat to regen health. If he finds that chest/food on the ground, you basically just saved his life. And, as we can all tell, that simply means you are making it harder on yourself.
Many people may argue that it is a good idea to keep an empty inventory so when they kill someone, they can just pick up all the loot. This is especially good when you are in a rush or in a chase.
The only workaround I know of is to simply 'delete' the items you don't need. How do you do that? Simple. Fire/lava. If there is lava on the map, it is within your bets interest to dump your extra gear into there. Flint and steel is also useful in making your own fire. Another method is to put the items into a corn chest right before refill. When corn refills, it deletes all the current contents of the chests only to replace it with the new items. I simply do not see enough people that do this when I watch them play/watch their videos.
Thoughts on my 'philosophy' on loot management?
