The boat only has a lot of chests. There's actually only one tier 2 on it.
I feel that the boat is there because its like a bloodbath, like corn. 5-6 people usually make it there and normally only 1 prevails. So it makes it really risky to go for, but rewarded quite nicely if you can pull it off. And also it usually means you have to skip corn to get to it, so that you aren't battling the other people while trying to get a weapon.

In my opinion, Breeze Island corrupted MCSG. IT came out at a time where our player-base was growing rapidly, so all those thousands of players have been taught to like small maps. These players think that MCSG is meant a be quick game.

Did any of you know that a game of SG1 could go on for almost a full hour? Most of you can't even think of hiding in a tree from mobs. We did, and we loved it. It was living up to the MCSG name, Survival Games, PvE and PvP.

We have ended up training people to dislike the bigger maps. When Breeze Island came out, voting came out too, so we have new players voting voting for Breeze Island instead of the random selection. Then more players came in and only played Breeze for 3 months straight. These players got used to the fact that games are only 10 minutes long and the chests are practically given to you.

These players didn't experience what myself and others did. We experienced interesting matches, where you actually wanted to spectate. We experienced hiding in trees from the mobs, wondering if the diamond armor guy is coming for us. We experienced getting lost in the woods. We experienced the joy of winning a game. We experienced friendship, trust and respect for all players.

After Breeze came out, Team Vareide decided it would be a good idea to create a smaller map. There you go another 4 months of SG4 and Breeze.

Recently, we got more maps, too many. Some of these are larger, but they aren't voted for. The devs thought it would be a good idea to tweak voting, instead of removing it which is what most players wanted. \

And that is the main reason I don't play in-game anymore.

I just skimmed trough a few posts so not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but if not, i'm doing it now.
The reason i LIKE SG1 is because of many things, maybe it was because it was the first map, it is the one i know the best, it's the one i have the most wins on. But the thing that is most important to me is the Survival aspect. I saw a few guys mentioning the fact that people dislike maps that takes to long and isn't action packed. For me it's the other way around, i liked the scavenging part were you went out to get chests to get your loot and not only to get a sword and then go on a killing spree to get loot. After this you go to try and pick off a few guys then at night you go to corn to fight to either get gear you're missing or keep others from getting it.

I like sg 1. It reminds me of the terrain of the actual hunger games book/movie.

A second bloodbath would be nicer if it wasn't less than 2 minutes after the games started, imo. A few people die at corn, then a few more at the boat. Over half the tributes can easily be gone within 2-3 minutes, and that's not really fun :/ Personally I'd love to see the huge amount of chests on the boat removed entirely, or have the boat removed, and then have 2 smaller boats in the ocean (on opposite sides of the map), with 2-3 double chests each.

To be honest, I hated hour long games. That was one of the early things I never liked. Why? Because I don't have that kinda time. I'd rather play several matches than 2. I'm glad they changed the time limit. While the long games were fun at first, once the charm wore off they were boring.

After like 4 games the chests WERE practically given to me. I remembered where I ran and went there again because I found chests there. Routes have always been a part of the game for me.

While the in-game people were nicer back then, it couldn't last. Everyone was new and there was a small player base. Now there are way more players who have experience. They know backstabbing works, so they do it. I personally like the "you can't trust anyone" feel; it feels like the Hunger Games. Sure, I enjoy the survival aspect, but for me it needs action to make it interesting.
