So I was recently (like sometime in May) temporarily banned for using Better Sprint Mod (I wasn't) and for possible aimbot (I wasn't). I didn't dispute these supposed infractions because I was leaving for China the next day, but questions still linger in my mind. The main one is, how do you (staff) detect Better Sprint Mod? How can I (as the user) prove that I'm not using Better Sprint Mod? I'm not referring to my specific case, but to Better Sprint Mod-related bans in general. What is the criteria for evaluating if a player is using said mod or not?

I'd appreciate an answer to this question, because the idea seems quite sketchy to me.

Thanks,

Elatric

The bow then sprint should not be sufficient evidence, because someone could be able to start up sprint extremely quickly.

I think the only surefire way to detect it is if they hit a person and continue sprinting, because no matter how fast a player is at starting sprint, they can not constantly hit and sprint.

and running up hillsides ;p considering normal players cant do that, since the hill stops their sprint

The main one would be
1. Running up hills (they would be sprinting while jumping up the blocks)
2. Sprinting after hitting player (this is impossibru, you can sprint and click so fast at the same time)

Yeah... When mods do "claim" a user is using BSM, it can be stupid. Either they are right and they have enough evidence, or you have a person with very fast fingers.
It seems like many mods don't know BSM worth crap and nail people randomly for it. This guy is an example. Many mods are good at spotting hacks, however.

Honestly some mods think people use BSM because the person is good at double clicking W, people get banned randomly just like this guy, it's pathetic.
