The Au Clan Battle Guide
Hootie14 and myself have moderated and refereed numerous AU clan battles and have noticed the lack of organization and confusion of rules. We have now come up with Guidelines and specific rules in hope to make clan battles more official and organized for all events. If you agree with these guidelines please contact either Hootie14 or myself so we can add your clan to the list1. Abide by MCSG rules. If any member in a clan is caught dis-obeying MCSG rules by moderators or players who have valid evidence then that clan will appropriately penalized. Results of past clan battles can be changed if evidence later proves a person guilty of an offence during a battle. The specific penalty depends on the corresponding rule which is broken.
2. Clans participating in the battle must each specify at least three maps which they want to play on before choosing a server to join. All members from both clans must vote for one of these maps which have been specified by a clan. The clan which chooses the map will rotate from match to match. Who gets to choose the map for the first map will be the clan who was challenged to the battle.
3. No player interference. If a player in the match asks to team with a clan the clan members must say ‘no’ and treat him as an ordinary player. Friends of clan members must also be treated as ordinary players. Accepting gear which is shared from players or teaming with other players who aren’t participating in the battle will result in a forfeit. Under no circumstances are extra clan members allowed to be in the same game as the people in the battle. If a member of a clan which is not supposed to be participating in the battle joins the server they must leave.
4. No spectators who have been participating in the clan battle. If the owners feel as though they can trust one another to spec the matches then this is fine, however if one clan declines this option then the members must leave as soon as they are killed. If spectators are found giving away positions and details (this includes friends of clan members) a forfeit will be applied. If anyone is sponsored during the game by friends or clan members this could also result in a disqualification. The disqualification will occur of the item is to be used by any members of the clan. If five arrows are sponsored it is expected that they should be dropped.
5. Do not disrespect other clans or members. Not only is this against MCSG rules but it also advocates poor sportsmanship. Whether you win or lose, be respectful of all clan members and players in the game. If someone has a problem with another player then they should bring it up with the owner of their clan or the leader of the clan battle.
6. The number of members from each clan must be agreed on beforehand. A list of members in game names who are participating in the battle must be provided before the battle commences. These players may be switched between matches but must be specified before the next match commences (with confirmation from the other clan). Not notifying the other clan of a switch or player participating will result in a match forfeit. Only clan members are allowed to play in battles, if any other player is used then a disqualification will be applied.
7. Anything goes in game. Apart from disregarding any rules stated above; the battle will be played out as a normal MCSG match. This includes being killed off spawn, all is fair. If anyone exploits the diamond sword glitch his or her clan will be disqualified. As soon as ‘live game’ commences the battle has begun. If a member of the clan lags out during pregame then everyone must leave and the game is annulled. If members lag out after the game has commenced then the battle will continue. Once all members from one clan are eliminated then the opposing clan wins. Clan battle’s will be first to 3 unless the match is lost by forfeit.
8. If either team chooses to have a moderator or “referee” spectating the clan battle, any disagreements will be talked over with the moderator and the owners of each clan. Once both sides are heard the moderator will make the final decision, which will determine the final outcome.
9. The outcome of a clan battle must be posted on each clan’s page and contain the date the battle concluded and must be displayed for at least a week, or until asked otherwise.
- thanks to croe97 for creating a large portion of these rules.
As a code of politeness any clan that disbands or changes its name will be expected to contact Hootie14 or myself. Failure to comply with this after a week may result in temporarily removal from the respected clan list.
