So, I was thinking for a while now how players should be able to increase their gamma settings, aka brightness. I heard from people that this gives an unfair advantage to those who use normal brightness because they can't see in dark places as well than a user who increases their gamma, well, you don't need to install anything to increase you're gamma, it is something that basically is like changing you're Minecraft settings except just in you're Minecraft folder. I honestly think changing you're gamma should be allowed because well for a player like me, I can barely see anything in sewers, caves ect, and my Brightness is full. Also I think MCSG should allow this because honestly, the only way a user with higher gamma than others could be caught is either, screenshotting their own screen with increased gamma, or recording with their gamma high. I think MCSG should let users change their own gamma to to whatever they like. Thanks for reading.

It's against the rules and will result in a ban.

I actually can think of a great use for bringing up gamma. Youtube. The main problem any youtubers face is that when you go in dark places, everything is practically impossible to see.

Editing your gamma is against the rules and I'm fairly positive it'll stay that way. What about all the people who don't know how to do it? It's unfair against them. Say there's 2 people, both with very dim monitors, one of them knows about editing gamma, the other one doesn't. The guy who knows how to edit it would have a fairly significant unfair advantage over the other.

I really never understood this rule, and if youre going to ban having a higher brightness, why not just ban higher sensitivities, fovs, and render distances? It's not that difficult to change, all you need is a keyboard and a computer, not a hacked client.

Gamma's can't be changed in the in-game settings.

I'm aware of that. It really is not difficult to go into a folder and modify a text file. Windows at least comes with a program to open text files.
Yes, but it wasn't meant to be altered. Which is why its in a text document burrowed in folders, instead of next to FOV.
