How are districts chosen?

So how? If you don't know what i mean, I mean the district that you are given to you at the beginning of the game.

No, what i meant was the district number. Like are you just picked at random when the game starts or something. I wanna know so next time I can team with my district partner in crime XD

First two people to join get 1, then the next two get 2, and so on up to 12. Edit: That's why donors are normally 12 due to the fact that they're usually the last to join the server.
