Point 3) I'm not going to use this, as I think it's cheap, but setting "Sprint" to caps lock will achieve the same thing.

If you do that, then you will have to take your finger off of D (Moving Right) to press the sprint key. My recommendation is setting it to something like Shift (And change sneak) so you can use it with your smallest finger (Pinky )
Of course, it depends on how you place your fingers, that's just my opinion.

Then you'll have to un-caps lock every time you type or something

2)In 1.7, the pause is so small, it'll be extremely similar to a no pause that BSM has.
3)Hold down your sprint key in 1.7 would allow you to "sprint forever"
