EU servers has at least 2 hackers in every-game I join. US Servers has 1 every other game. I've noticed a big increase in hackers this past month, and it seems to be getting worse.

Sure I can record every game I play, take 20mins+ to record, edit, render, and upload a hacker video. But to be honest, I can only do about at most 3 a day. I don't have time for this... neither does everyone else. Most can't even record(because of their outdated computers), don't know how to edit(to save time), render(to save time) and upload videos to youtube.

As a regular player, I help as much as I can when it comes to catching hackers and abusers. But I can't catch'em all(Joking accidentally). I have about 80 videos uploaded just on hackers these past 3 months. That's a lot of hackers, and that's just from me. Think about the rest of the community dealing with these hackers and add that up.

Most of the community are complaining about hackers everyday and most of them aren't joking. I thought that I could insta-ban someone without video proof if I became a Moderator, but that isn't the case. Moderators do their best to deal with hackers and frankly, it doesn't seem like the number hackers are lowering. It's not that there isn't enough moderators around, it's just that there are way too much hackers now. Don't blame the moderators.

Instead of wasting everyone's time of recording, editing, rendering, uploading hacker videos. I believe there are simple and/or efficient ways to decrease the amount of hackers.

1) Stricken the rules for hackers. In most games, hacking once is a perma-ban. On MCSG, First offence is 7-days, 2nd offense is a perma-ban. 7-days is way too lenient for hackers. A hacker downloaded hacks for a reason, they know exactly what they're doing. Hacking is a universal offence when it comes to gaming. It doesn't matter what age you are. They know the rules. If the hacking rule is seriously lenient because you want to keep those players in the MCSG servers, then I believe that you will be losing more players because the hackers are still here. You don't want the MCSG servers to be known as a hack-infested community.

-Change it from a 7-day ban to a 14-day ban for first offense. Second offense should be perm-ban. In my humble opinion, this is as fair and lenient as it gets.

2) Use or create a better Anti-cheat plugin. The current anti-cheat clearly doesn't work against people who use Aimbot, Forcefield, Kill-Aura, Regen Hacks/Godmode, and even water-walking... I've even seen people sprint in mid-air a few times before and they've never got kicked.

Overall, I believe the rule for hackers should be more strict. You can get a 7-day ban for typing "I Hack" in the chat. Typing "I Hack" compared to "Actually Hacking", both 7-day bans. Doesn't make any sense to me. Creating a better Anti-cheat plugin seems to be just a far-away dream on Minecraft...

We could always make our hacking plugin stronger, if you would like the mechanics of the game to be completely ruined. That is what would happen if we made our plugin any more strict. More hacks would be blocked, but perfectly vanilla actions would be blocked as well.

Regarding the rules on hacking, two offenses is a perm ban. We do not perm ban on first offense for hacking because we believe that players make mistakes and most of them deserve a second chance. If you admit to hacking, we consider that just as bad as using hacks. Think about it, if someone admits to murder, what are they going to be charged with? The answer is murder. As far as our rules go, admitting to breaking a rule means you broke it, and you will be punished as such.

Harder than you think for there to be a better Anti-Cheat plugin, last time they tried an Anti-Aimbot plugin, it just made PvP horrible for the really good players. Also, the reason for why first time is a temp ban is to give the player another chance to play if they have learnt cheating is bad.
But this is quiet risky as most hackers just do it for "fun" and just continue to hack even after having a temp ban, so it is quiet a risky choice between keeping the player banned and giving them another chance.

I like that beacause I know a lot of people who have been banned for hacking and didn't have hacks. It would suck if they were permabanned.

A better anti-hacking plugin makes sense, but if we recall the past issues with NCP... yeah. But it is probably possible to create one that won't interfere with PVP, maybe that could be a solution. And we could make the rules against hacking more severe.... problem is, hackers are incredibly stupid. They would still think they were going to get away with it and not be worried about getting caught no matter what the penalty. :p

Exactly to your point.. if someone murders someone.. they get auto sent to prison, they don't get a little warning then get another chance. Hacking is probably the worst thing someone can do as far as a video game. When I was a mod even, there were countless numbers of people who hacked and I banned them.. then they get unbanned.. and do the same exact thing. In my opinion, once you hack, I feel like you shouldn't get another chance. But maybe I am being too harsh since I probably hate hackers more than anything in the world lol.

Most murder cases are also not life sentences.

If someone knows how to find, download, and then install hacks, then they are smart enough to know hacking is wrong. No second chances.

They can of course appeal their ban, and review the video evidence more in-depth to a Sr. Mod. The evidence is either very clear, or unclear. There won't be any "clear enough". I personally think a 14-day first offense, 2nd attempt perma-ban makes a strong statement towards hackers.
