I have really been struggling lately. I always want to kill someone using unexpected fire so I try and lure them in and then use it. 50% of the time they are skilful enough to realise what I am trying to do and I just end up getting knocked into it and then I die. So, my question for the community is when do you use unexpected fire?

I do it when I'm being chased by a team for more than a minute, or against a overpowered guy for a bit...

Only do it when you are getting chased by Chad, he will fall for it!

Fire was good for breaking sprint in 1.6.4.
Fire is good for lowering the enemy a few hearts regardless of armor.
Fire is good to surprise the enemy, and stun them every once in a while.

I tend to use fire only when getting chased. I also use it on teams, sometimes. I set them all on fire then circle around them; hitting them as fast as I can.

Ill teach you. I am quite successful with it. Never do it when: 1) They are running on the side of you 2) They are constantly fishing roding you 3) They are swinging constantly. When to do it 1) When they are directly behind you (2-5 blocks) 3) When they got a couple hits on you and chasing you (They will be desperate to hit you). When you do it place about 2 blocks in front of you and back up slowly. If you are low place fire in front of you and just turn the opposite direction and run
