I've noticed that there have been quite a few threads created by previous MCSG players who wanted to point out that there were some serious problems with MCSG, especially it's staff, that needed to be addressed. All these threads were deleted and the players' forum accounts banned. While I do understand that a few threads were unnecessarily rude, some were simply trying to be helpful. Is there a problem with criticism?

The staff probably just get tired of hearing it all the time, regardless if the thread provided good arguments or not.

Then why not just ignore it? Where is the reasoning in deleting the thread and banning the poster?
Well I don't know that. Banning the user is something I would absolutely not consider unless he/she ignores Moderator/Staff suggestions. I would lock the threads though, because if anyone wants to return and revisit it they can. So they can read their opinions again and/or see why it was locked and not follow in the footsteps of OP.

Just putting it out there, those threads are usually not deleted but are in fact moved to the Staff discussion forum (Which, naturally, is hidden from users) So they can be reviewed and discussed. Opinions are not generally thrown out the window, we read them.

Also, another thing - a majority of the time in such threads users post opinions on things they have little to no knowledge or information about. Such as staff protocols or how previous problems were handled. And, as mentioned, we do get tired of hearing people tell us we're not doing our jobs simply for following protocol put in place by our administrators and Chad.

And I can assure you, that particular VIP does not get special treatment. I have been involved in issues pertaining to such matters myself.

The answer is very simple, we do accept criticism, we do so gladly infact, but public display of this isn't needed and causes unneeded flame, which is why the posts are deleted. When it comes to people being banned for these actions, the person had been spreading rumors, false information, or information that should not be spread around. If you have criticism for us, we gladly accept it, but bring it to us privately, as stated, public displays are not needed and cause more problems for the staff than solutions to your problems.

qwErtyVAsdfghN, your posts are being deleted as you are bringing up issues that don't need to be brought up publicly.

If someone gets banned for posting something like that, it means that they either were a normal member who broke rule #1:
1. Respect all staff members and their decisions: We expect members to listen and respect staff members. Staff can be noticed by their bright red names, Moderators; dark red names, Sr. Moderators; bolder dark red names, Administrators; or rainbow names,Developers.
  • You can trust us by making decisions on how to handle anything as we are doing it to better our community. Sometimes, you might not agree completely with us, but you need to understand and trust our judgement in situations.
  • There is zero tolerance for talking back or disobeying staff. If you disagree with a staff member and truly think they are incorrect, email to a higher ranking.

Or they were a staff member. Staff members are specifically instructed to speak with the senior staff regarding issues they may have between staff. Bringing things like that to the public is a big-no-no.

I, {Name Here}, accept the responsibilities by donating my own time by watching over the MCG Community and agree that any mistake or action not approved by the administration could result in permanent ban or removal from the website.

^The oath every staff member takes upon hiring.
