A Quandary, my dear Watson

So if one was to ender pearl to the top of Freeze Island spawn and stand directly on the center block the entire deathmatch, and the opponent(s) were farther from the middle by 1-2 or more blocks: how does the server determine the winner in a "waiting game" of sorts? I had thought that the winner was whoever was closest to the middle of spawn, but it's apparently not according to my losing to ilumina when he was 5 blocks away from spawn center and I was in the exact center block. :/

Yes, I just admitted to ender pearling (pearling is a word now apparently heehee) on top of a spawn at deathmatch. So sue me.

It's whoever dies first, but if it carries out long enough it's whoever got the most kills that match I believe.

Hmm, well that would make sense then as I average only about 1-3 kills a game. Thanks for the blazingly fast response, Mr. Speedy. ^_^
