Quite a few of these threads have passed through the forums before, and I usually repeat the same response whenever one pops up. It seems that most people who complain about the "issue" have a bit of a misunderstanding of what these games are supposed to be. These games aren't built to be fair for every player in a single game. I know that sounds a bit silly, especially compared to how most multiplayer games are designed.
Most multiplayer experiences are built with very precise balancing, meant to give everyone in a single scenario as even a chance as possible. When you play a call of duty match, there is very little you can do to gain an advantage over your opponents besides....be better than them. That's the idea, and it's fair to say most games are balanced that way. This game is not.
This game (And the original hunger games concept) is built in a way to give different advantages for many different ways of playing, while countering with some very strong disadvantages. This difference is plainly illustrated in many of our customs. Teamkilling in most games is a horrible offense, often worthy of a ban. Killing a teammate in this game, on the contrary, is an accepted strategy.
The "point" of MCSG, contrary to most multiplayer games, is not to be the best fighter. If you want to win the most games, you have to be the most cunning. I would say cunning is the most valuable skill in this game. You are in an arena with very little in the way of rules, with that many possibilities for smart thinking, It's no surprise wit and cunning are so valuable. With a game like this, you cannot expect everyone (or anyone) to fight you "fair" for the sake of fighting you "fair". People are going to do whatever they can to beat you, and you have to be clever enough to find ways around that. There are plenty of strategies which play on the weaknesses of teams, and with the way the game is built and balanced, you have a near infinite capacity to find or create these strategies.
