Hello Tributes! Today I'm going to be telling you how to take out teams on MCSG. As you guys already know, teaming is a big thing on MCSG and learning how to fight them and even kill them makes all the difference.
Note: Before even attempting to fight a team, unless they are very under-geared always find secondaries before fighting them.
Part 1 (Testing them out)
Before you engage in a fight, you want to test them out. What I mean by this is testing out their skill and experience in the game. Light them up with FnS and see how they react. After that shoot them with a few arrows just to see what they will do. If they keep on charging then they most likely aren't the best players. If this is the case, keep shooting arrows to get them low and go in for the kill with your sword. However, you determine that these players are a bit more advanced then move on to the next step.
Part 2 (Running)
After you established that this team is a force to be reckoned with, start running. If they are a team of 3 or above, running for a long time will not do much. They most likely will boost each other and you will quickly get killed. This is why knowing your terrain is very important. Run in buildings, forests, and areas with obstacles because when they boost each other, they will most likely run into an obstacle and that will slow them down. If you are in a forrest remember you can put fire on the tree blocks making it almost invisible as they run under the trees. Then choose the terrain you want to fight in. I'd recommend not to go into the water, however if that's where you fight teams best than go ahead.
Part 3 (Terrain)
Personally, I prefer climbing high mountains or hills to use my rod and try to knock them off. When using mountains and hills, they can't boost each other in fear of them knocking each other off! So you basically negated one advantage of teaming. Also when you hit them of any hill or mountain, you are giving free hits by them sustaining fall damage. Another popular way to fight team is chokepointing. Chokepointing is very effective, however it takes a long time to work and pay off. Now that many people know chokepoints, it's very hard to pull them off.
Part 4 (Setting up the Fight)
If you are in a rush to kill a team before deathmatch or you are in a clan battle you may have no other choice but to fight them without the terrain advantage. If this is the case, run to an area that is relatively flat in order to fight them. I like flat ground because it is easier to FnS them and it gives me a wider space to move. If you have plenty of arrows, use them to get the team low. Arrows are very effective in fighting teams as it has less of a risk of you dying because you are further away. After your arrows run out it is time to engage with close quarter's combat.
Part 5 (Close Quarter Combat)
So here it is. The finale of taking on a team. You usually will get one chance at this because you will be low if you fail so when you try to run, they will boost each other to finally deliver the finishing blow. Before anything else, eat a gapple before engaging. Those extra absorption hearts along with the regen will help you tremendously. As you go in, try to get an FnS on both of them. There is no shame in FnS spamming or just randomly just placing all the FnS you own. This will usually be your last chance to kill them so use all your resources. After that we all make the mistake of targeting one person. In Minecraft you can only register 2 hits every second on one person. However, if you switch hitting each person separately, the amount of hits you can get on each person becomes a lot more! Also I advise rod-hitting. When you hit someone with the rod bobber, and quickly switch to your sword and your sword hits them, Minecraft will register this as two hits. If you combine this with quick switch hits between the team the combination of your previous arrows, FnS, and now sword will quickly kill them. If they do try to run away, try using some arrows to finish them off as they will now be easy pickings. For more information on Rod-hitting and quick switch hitting between players see this video below.
