Are you happy that you fishing rods aren't going to be used for pvp anyomore?

I really dislike this.

It's not that I "love" using the fishing rod or anything, but I think that it is really cool that players have used an item to enhance PvP which was not initially intended for that purpose.

Removing the "discovery" aspect of Minecraft is sad

It upsets me. I could never use a fishing rod properly, but it enchanced pvp and made the games more interesting, more intricate, the update is going to dull down pvp without the fishing rod, which really is a shame. As a guy who fishes for experience to get enchantments in a lot of maps, I enjoy the variety in prizes now though. Which is neat.
Overall an intricate part of pvp has been removed and makes it duller.

From what I know it bukkit is the only way to use fishing rod for pvp. I have tested it on a none bukkit world with my friend and it didn't do anything, so let's just hope they will fix it.

Eh, I'm somewhat saddened by this, but it does save one spot in my invent.
I'm more scared that I might not have a knockback rod in the water, I still used the fishing rod in PvP, it does help me, but sometimes I scroll wheel to far and get out my fish, losing the fight making me need to run.
Oh, yeah, it's not the new MineCraft, it's Bukkit, hopefully they can keep the knockback with the fishing rod.

There are many bonuses and disadvantages with fishing rods in 1.7 hopefully the bonuses outweigh the disadvantages

Mojang is probably reasonably annoyed that a game originally built to be a building game has turned out to be an amazing PvP game too..,

The fishing rod does low damage and from what I've seen doesn't provide nearly as much advantage as would be necessary to consider it being banned. It has effective handicaps, (Range limitations) and I've never seen it become a match decider.
