Did no one else realize that BSM was going to continue updating? I knew all along, it has other features, I figured it was obvious >.< I thought 1.7 sprint just made it better/easiser if you didn't have BSM...

Something I would like to know is if BSM will be allowed after 1.7. BSM would still give some advantages, such as:

-Not having to hold down sprint key.
-Auto-sneak (sneaking while looking through inventory)
-Sprint never breaking (as opposed to a very, very slight pause in 1.7)

But:

-You can just place something on your sprint key, and never have to worry about it again.
-There is basically no surefire way to detect if someone is looking through their inventory.

And, the big one; the one that really convinces me to not ban for BSM: If moderators already can't accurately detect BSM, evident of all the unfair bans, how can we trust them when 1.7 sprint rolls out? The slight pause of not sprinting in 1.7 can look instantaneous, and moderators may think that it is BSM, which may result in even more unfair bans.

I highly doubt that BSM will be allowed after 1.7.
This is the Survival Games. You're supposed to survive, and it isn't supposed to be easy.
BSM makes surviving much easier.
Now, MCSG won't demand that players don't use the vanilla sprint key. That does make it easier, but it won't make it as easy as with BSM. I don't know if this makes sense - It's a jumbled general thought in my head, and I'm probably explaining it wrong.
Let me put it like this:

BSM - 1
1.7 Sprint Key - 5
1.6 and before - 10

The higher the number, the harder it is to survive. (Based solely on sprinting. Surviving isn't only sprinting.) With the new sprint key, it's a lot easier, but with BSM its insanely easy.
"Why not remove the sprint key for MCSG?"
A) Tough to do - The Devs do a ton of coding as it is. This would just make a lot more work for them. My guess is that removing a vanilla feature is really difficult.
B) It would make people leave MCSG. Yeah, many of us Forumers don't like it. But what about the average noob, which makes up more than 75% of the players on MCSG? A huge amount of players would leave MCSG for other servers that kept it.
C) Why would you want to remove a Minecraft feature? The makers of Minecraft listen to the community, and the community in general wanted a sprinting feature.

It really isn't that tough to learn to hold down your sprint key, though. Although yes, you'll never be able to move around quite as fast as someone with BSM.
As person that habitually presses the Shift key, for absolutely no reason, it really wasn't tough to learn to hold it down. I'm playing around with it right now, in fact.

I'm testing that out, and you do stop sprinting. If you hold the button, though, your sprint will restart almost instantly. But there is a slight gap. Very slight.
When I tested it there was absolutely no gap. You just kept on sprinting...

EDIT: You can bind the default sprint key to another key to make it more comfortable as well.

Hmm, odd. I'll continue to test it, and perhaps upload a video so people can see what I'm talking about

*Confusion*

1.7 Sprint is so different from BSM, BSM lets you sprint in all directions while 1.7 only lets u keep sprinting in one direction which is forward.

1. Please don't post on threads where the last message was 30 days or more ago, this is a necro and is against the rules.

2. In multiplayer you can't sprint in all directions with BSM.
