Hi everybody! Tietan here and I really need your people's opinion! I made some clan battle tactics, but I want people to give me constructive criticism. I'm kinda a randy in the clan area of MCSG so I want you people to tell me if they would work in a real battle! These tactics have never been properly field tested! Thank you

Strikers and Supporters

This is a very basic idea created originally by various naval commanders. This involves two different sets of people. Strikers and supporters. The strikers are the offensive players and the supporters are the defensive players. This tactic is used by balancing out each other’s faults and therefore add on to our strengths. The basic idea is that we have a squad composed of strikers and supporters the ratio being 2-1 strikers to supporters and vice versa, or 1-1 strikers to supporters depending if it is a 6v6 or a 4v4.

Starting the Game

The start of the game, and how decked each of us get can determine the game as a whole. While most clan battles are 6v6, this will work with any even number. To start off game, we will break into two groups. Each group securing a route on a map. Each group is composed of strikers and supporters. If it is a 6v6 then there will be 2 offensive players and 1 defensive player and vice versa. If it is a 4v4 then there will be one offensive and one defensive in each group.

Both of these groups will go OPPOSITE directions and routes. While you may think that we should all stick together, we need to get as much loot as possible and prevent the other clan from getting loot as well. To ensure this, we will have each group go opposite directions. For example on Valleyside University, one group will go for the Auditorium while the other group will go for the Dorms and the Lava Double Tier 2.

The Bait

Well we all have seen clans targeting other members while that member is by him or herself. While this is annoying when you are being targeted, this could prove to be an advantage in the entire clan. We will use our best runner for this tactic.

The tactic is that our best runner will lead the clan members who target him into a trap. Namely us. Once we establish the bait, the bait will run to us while we are hidden and lead the clan members to our clutches. This will work in corners and buildings. The clan member will run past the corner, building, or room and the members targeting him will soon follow. We will then un sneak from our positions and take them out. We have the element of surprise and perhaps numbers as well.

Dropping the Soap

This tactic will be used by half of our defensive roster and the other half of our offensive roster.

The tactic involves the mistake that everyone in clans will make. Giving into the hype of the battle. We will have our defensive roster engage the enemy and soon run. The clan will give chase and that is when our offensive roster will come in. As the clan is chasing the defensive roster, we will establish a rendezvous with the offensive players. The defensive roster will rod the other clan back and get them low with bow shots. While the other clan is getting annoyed and frustrated they will “drop the soap.” Once they drop the soap, the offensive roster will come behind them and we will effectively “sandwich” them into a lock down. INSPIRED BY JUN!!!!

Sacrifice

In clan battles sometimes a sacrifice has to be made. Though tragic, this sacrifice can allow us to win the clan battle. If the entire clan is low and we are being chased as we are going to a chokepoint, have the person who can run the best or the person who has the most hearts sacrifice. This means have them split up from the group. The other clan will jump to take out one member of the clan and will follow him instead of the clan. This allows the rest of the clan to regen and think of a strategy to help us comeback.

Invisible Strength

Direct attacks will almost never work. Keep in mind the Seven rules of strategy: 1) adjust your ends to your means, 2) keep your object always in mind, 3) choose the line of the least expectation, 4) exploit the line of least resistance, 5) take the line of operations which offers the most alternatives, 6) ensure both plans and dispositions are flexible, 7) do not throw your weight into an opponent while he is on guard, 8) do not renew an attack along the same lines if an attack has failed

Chestroutes

  • The Theater

  • The Parking Lot

  • The Fountain to Football Field

  • Dorms (Where you flick the switch and go down)

  • Lava Double Tier 2 then going to the Basketball Gym Tier 2

Chokepoints

  • The Library
This chokepoint is the most frequently used and the most popular. Simply rod the person of the little rooftop.

  • The Parking lot Chokepoint
This chokepoint is flawed mainly because there are two ways to get up to the parking lot. But once they come up, you can easily knock them off the theater killing them even if they are at 10 hearts.

  • The Mountain Chokepoint

The one is my personal favorite. The mountain I’m talking about is the one near the football field with the abandoned house on the top. From the top of the mountain you can easily bow people off and even if they come up, you can jump into the river below and place a boat.

Advanced Strategies

When you are going up the chokepoint in the library, there is a little place where there is a single tier 1. We have some of our members run to the choke point while others are hiding where the tier 1 is. Once they have their attention on the guy on the library, the people hiding rush them and we taco them easily.

Very nice thread :)
Another tactic would be The Flank meaning if you are in an even player count meaning 5v5, 6v6, or 7v7 if you had any armor or weapon or even skill advantage one of your players would flank around the other team. This would give that other player the advantage from the back, the other players would be a player short and all would be getting hit, but so would the opposing team by the player behind them. The players on your team left from the flank would get the other team on fire/low and the flanking player would finish them off when they retreat back to regen.

"Strikers and Supporters" is a dumb concept. A team fight will usually start with bow spam and then everyone engaging with sword; having "supporters" stay back and bow will not be effective as they will shoot their own teammates.

Going separate routes is ineffective on maps like Valley, Highway, and TSG2, as one map area is able to sustain a whole team and the route will often be contested, allowing for picks.

"Baiting" often ends in one getting picked. And it's not like the other team is stupid; they obviously know that they're being led to the opposing team.

And, just curious, what clans have you been in? lol

I cried every time I had to sacrifice someone but it only made the clan feel how much it meant to win this battle. After each sacrifice, my clan would fight back 2 times as hard because of all the sacrifices but that's what Spartans do >.<

Regardless of that, this thread is well made, I might post some strategies of my own soon which may come to some use for new clans.

Thanks for the constructive criticism! As I said in the beginning, I never field tested these ever. Thanks for pointing out mistakes and flaws because those really help me out. As I said, I'm a randy in the clan area :p

Very nice thread! I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into it! I'm not quite sure about the Strikers/Supporters and splitting to opposite sides of them map but splitting to different sides of the map, BUT some of the tactics seem like they could work! Personally I have done a bit better and modified version of the baiting tactic a couple of times and it has proven very effective (I wont be sharing it because obviously it wont work anymore if I do) and the other tactic such as the one u named "Dropping the soap" could end up being quite effective c:

Hmm, I like most of these but almost all clan battles I've been a part of are 8v8s, I'm not sure where the 6v6 notion came from. As for these strategies, I like how people are thinking out of the box. As a former clan leader, I always looked for ways to creatively "divide and conquer" but nothing actually worked. We'd end up getting picked and dying.

The most effective way to win a battle is traditional communication. Stay together and use callouts and don't do anything irrational.

My clan does the run and boat when in danger. Oddly enough it leaves the other clan confused and mine escapes to regen before fighting back. xD
