Confusion Over Fist Glitch

The map is Fortune Island. After opening a spawn chest, I hit someone who started fisting me off spawn. I hit him three times and kill him. Now I know that I have the glitch. I don't kill anyone else with it and go my ways getting decent armor, before encountering a player at the broken runway island. The guy has an iron chestplate and a stone sword. He spots me and begins to chase me. I turn around and hit him with fist glitch twice. He starts to run and I go to open a few chests, trying to find a weapon. I couldn't find one. He comes back a few minutes later and I hit him twice again. He turns around and begins to run again. Then, I get kicked for abusing fist glitch. I think to myself: I thought that I could only get kicked if I have a weapon. But fair enough; I knew I had it and still used it, so I guess my kick is just.

I join another game, a different lobby. The map is SG Highway. I go to corn and get nothing. I then go my route (to the construction site). There's a guy in front of me and I punch him, with the intent of hitting him into a tree and breaking his sprint, so I could get ahead of him. I kill him. My initial thought is "WTF I didn't win last game". Then I continue on my route. A guy with a stone sword is already there and starts to attack me. Startled, I hit him back twice and we both run in opposite directions. Around half a minute later, I get banned for an hour for abusing the fist glitch.

So in the first scenario, I knew I had the glitch but didn't have a weapon, and tried killing someone with a weapon. I can see why the kick was fair. In the second scenario, I killed someone, not knowing that I had fist and I engaged against the person, but didn't try and kill him. Yet I get banned.

Now this thread is not complaining about my ban; it only lasts an hour and I was going to get off anyway. I just feel like there's confusion about the fist glitch rule.

I thought that the fist glitch is at max a kickable offense. I also thought that it is not considered abusing if you don't have a weapon. That is what I've heard mods say. There needs to be a clear, official statement on this rule, because it seems as though the mods are on different pages. So what is the rule, officially?

Perhaps it was the same mod who followed me into the next game, cause I'm pretty sure that mods can track players with a command.

Another possibility is that the mod who kicked me decided to ban me later on, without actually seeing me in the second scenario.

But that's besides the point. The point is that the rules of abusing the fist glitch are unclear, and there needs to be an official statement regarding this.

That's unfortunate. What makes this difficult is that mods don't know if you have a weapon. You (generic you, not to you Evermore) could just be hiding it. This whole glitch is a mess, I hope it's fixed soon.

I once was in a game with my friend and 2 mods. I'm keeping their name secret to protect their identity. My friend gets peeved off by one of the mods backtalking about his mod powers. he asks if we can target mod off spawn. I say go ahead and I'll go my route. I get like food off corn then head to my route. My friend gets a weapon and starts beating on him with a weapon and he says turn around and hit him. I do so and in one hit kill him. then a bacca comes soaring at me with the fist glitch, and I punch him in self defense and Kill him. Then my friend screams "You have the fist gltich!" and tosses me one of his weapons.
Then the mod uses /say to say "ulthar, stop abusing the fist glitch." I stand there shocked that he thought I was ABUSING it and the beginning of the game. so I reply: "How can I abuse it when I don't know I have it?" he says "Bs is when you kill one person with the fist glitch, it's rage mode when you kill 5 ppl." As my friend backs me up saying I didn't have ANY idea I had the glitch and I couldn't have told I had it in the first literally 10 seconds. The mod finally replies "Don't use the glitch again and don't try to make a damn excuse like everyone else does, for it'll result in a kick or ban. Then the other mod who died and him left. and honestly, all I think is that he was just upset that he died off spawn from the fist glitch on his own map, yes, he DID make the map we played on.
Everyone hates being killed by the glitch, and everyone ALSO hates being accused of it when they can't do crap about it. I think they need to implement a command for mods like /inv LeafyGreenTea to check if they have a weapon or not, and THEN take action on the topic. Ever since 1.6 and all the bugs and more hackers and less amazing mods and finally, new, and I have to say, not as helpful mods aren't being a good influence on the In game community. Really, it's becoming worse and worse with the fist glitch. PLus the mods don't know how to handle it and do it in different manners than each other. I think your ban was unfair and should be kept off your record for lack of evidence for you abusing it.

I was in a game with @Theoretical and another mod on solar frost a few days ago. I got a stone sword from corn, and decided to try-hard Theo, because I knew he had a mod teammate, and I didn't want to fight a team. He ran into a cave without an easy exit, and killed him. He happened to have a chain chest-plate and iron boots, so I got some more gear from it as well. To continue my rampage of spawn killing (Like most people do when they get a stone sword) I start to attack a half-armored player with a stone sword. As I am fighting him with my stone sword, I am kicked for "Abusing fist glitch". I return to the server furious, for that kick had ended my 6 game win streak. When I asked why I was kicked for "abusing fist glitch" I am told by Theo that when he F5'ed when I was chasing him and killing him, I had my fist out, not my sword. Thus he concluded that I was a fist glitch-er even when I was obviously killing other people with my stone sword, and a stone sword dropped with my other items when I was kicked. Although it was an honest mistake and could have been easily avoided, Theo was really nice about it (Apologized and everything) so I didn't really care afterwards.

Now with my and other stories, the problem is that mods are trying to enforce this rule because a lot of people are actually abusing it. Out of the 10 people that are kicked/banned for this reason I would assume that at least 9 of them are actual fist glitch-ers. I also assume mods aren't going around kicking people they don't like, rather they are trying to help the community, but sometimes make mistakes. So don't hate

These are my thoughts about your ban:

1) It was unfair.
2) The Moderator didn't know that you didn't have a weapon.
3) The Moderator didn't know that you didn't know you had the fist glitch.

You should really post a ban dispute. From your POV, the ban was unfair.

Completely unfair ban, when I was a mod the rule was you had to pick up a weapon and continue to hit players to be "abusing" it.

Judging from the fact that multiple skype friends of mine also have gotten banned for fist glitch before, I'm going to assume that it is a bannable offense. In that case, this rule needs to be more known.

When the iron swords were in the lobby, I've noticed that abusers would often say "it's only a kickable offense" as an excuse. In their point of view, this actually makes some sense, if they were only thinking about themselves. The abusers are probably thinking to themselves that:

1. I can't get banned for it, so why not use it?
2. I can get easy wins and only get kicked when a mod is spectating.

I bet a lot of the abusers wouldn't of used the glitch if they knew that they could get banned for it. Even now, with the iron swords gone, people still think that it's only kickable and use it to their advantage. So in conclusion, there needs to be a clear statement that the fist glitch is in fact bannable.

Also, when banning fist glitchers, there should be sufficient evidence against them, such as killing some guy with a sword and still using fist. Evidence should also show the abuser killing three or more people with the fist glitch, so there aren't any unfair bans.

I have got the glitch, as you said, without winning the prior game. The other day I hadn't played for 3 days, first game back and I had the glitch... not sure why, but this has happened a few times to me. Not always when I've had a break, but sometimes I'll have the glitch, then die, join another server and still have it. It can happen randomly I guess.

I've only had it once on SG4, and I freaked out, so I (luckily) found a weapon. I hid and quickly wrote a thread.

Who banned you?! They should be demoted and banned. I love MCSG, but really, some of the Mods aren't the best...
There are very good mods, but some could be better.
