Demotions

It seems like many mods have been demoted recently, such as Dorkyd1 and Derpydash11. I feel like the community should be told why they were banned because it leaves us confused on why the moderators we knew suddenly lost their mod.

Usually if they want people to know they will make a thread or post on their wall themselves.

I think the reason why they don't want the whole community to know is basically cause they don't want the community to complain to the sr. staff saying that his/her (demoted mod) demotion was a wrong decision.

Or you could be like CaptainJS and get demoted in under 24 hours. (Disclaimer: I feel horrible for the guy, not trying to make fun of him in any way.)

I really don't think there's any reason to release, well, a reason for a mod's demotion. If I got demoted as a mod I wouldn't really want people talking about how I got demoted, unless for a stupid reason.

If demoted mods want to speak about the reason they were demoted, then they can. We will not, however, make public that private information without their consent. They deserve a bit of privacy after going through that disappointment, and it would be incredibly rude to deny them that privacy.

At the moment, I'm just imagining flame wars on those types of threads. "He shouldn't have been demoted! He was great! You guys suck!" etc etc. All the demoted (at least I think all) either post something on their wall or make a thread about it. It should be left like that.

There honestly isn't too much left to say regarding this thread. It's a private matter, and not the staffs right to go about telling the community openly. Any banned/demoted staff has the right to make a public statement regarding why they lost their rank. I know it's a horrible feeling not knowing why a mod you liked was demoted, but it's there decision whether that information is disclosed to the public or not.
