Lately, the staff (I shouldn't generalize) certain staff members have been locking threads for "arguing." I can see why; pointless arguments should be stopped. But, I'm tired of the certain staff members locking threads for arguing, when valid points are actually being brought up.

The rules state this about flame wars/arguing:

8. Do not start argue/flame wars: We want to keep the community peaceful; a place where people are free to have opinions and discuss things. Arguments ruin discussions and are unnecessary.

The difference between an argument and a discussion is that a discussion has valid points provided by each sides debating. An argument is a pointless disagreement where sides repeatedly claim the opposing side is wrong without any explanation or validation.

How were the following threads not using any explanation or validation in there discussion?

http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/this-is-minecraft.49053/
http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/why-arent-you-telling-us-bic.49020/
http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/why-do-this-staff.49016/

Maybe I may have missed something, or the staff saw something I didn't see, but I've thoroughly looked through these threads and I haven't seen one bit of "arguing". All I see are discussions, with explanation and validation. If you can give me just one example of "arguing" please lock this thread. I just want a valid reason as to why certain threads are being locked because I don't see any rules being broken.

In my opinion, it seems you are just locking threads, just because you disagree with somebody, which is wrong. Before you say, "Don't make assumptions" on that statement, notice how I said "in my opinion."

If you do decide to lock this thread lock this thread, first see if it qualifies as arguing under the above definition and if it does, by all means please lock this thread.

From what I saw in those threads, it was an argument towards a decision made by Sr Staff. Nobody actually listened to the Sr Staff's responses and kept on calling them "liars". It isn't a discussion if it is one sided and people refuse to respect the other parties statements.

I want direct examples. If you can give me a direct example, then I'll stop. Link me the post and I'll report this thread to be locked.

In one of those threads Bic stated that he demoted Philly, not Creepy, yet everyone began to call him a liar.

The reason you're wrong here is that I didn't link the thread you're referring to. I saw "arguing" in that thread and that's why I didn't link it.

I realised that after I posted that, however 2 of those threads are about that topic, which was already asked by the person who it was about to stop. I'm not exactly sure for the other one but it would of been locked for a good reason.

Arguing is human nature. If someone doesn't agree with you, one of two things will happen.
1. You will become angry.
2. You accept that some people have different opinions than you.
Now, as to locking threads due to someone not agreeing with a staff member. The staff member usually goes toward the first one, but instead of putting up their opinion on the matter, the thread is locked (sometimes with a brief description).
In my opinion, it's perfectly fine if someone disagrees with a choice of a staff member/MCSG. There's no need to lock a thread unless it leads to hurtful comments, and/or threatening the wellbeing of others.
Arguing is NORMAL

I love how it says in the rules a peaceful place where you state your opinions, I have gotten like 4 warning because of my opinions. :) Makes sense.
And my opinions typically aren't hostile, but if someone posts a PvP tips thread and I say "These aren't very helpful tips" I get warned.
