DIY "Diamond of the Galaxy" piece

Welcome to my first DIY Art thread!

This is a 5 step instructional on how to create this nice piece of art for your room.
It doesn't matter if you don't have any art experience, this is doable for anyone!

The Finished Piece

The Basics
Things you will need:

• Paint (I used watercolor for vivid colors, acrylic works as well)

• Sponges (any kind really, dish sponges work well)

• Tape (scotch or painters tape)

• Round pointed object (end of paint brush or Q-tip)
