Does anyone else get this problem?

I have no idea why this happens. Maybe I'm just extremely unlucky (As usual) and have some crazy weirdo internet that does this.

Anyways, cut to the chase. When I land a hit with a fishing rod on someone, it doesn't work. What I mean is that it doesn't enable me to get more hits on them. I've tried timing it differently, I've tried coming in from the side, going straight on, nothing works. In fact, I have no idea why, but it gives my opponent an ADVANTAGE. WHY. I'm not exaggerating. Usually when I land a rod on someone, what happens is they get a double hit and I get a single hit. Either that or we both exchange one hit. Every. Freaking. Time. I've literally gotten huge combos with the rod as I got near someone, stunning them 4-5 times while strafing back and forth, then going in, and they get a double hit, I get 1 hit, or sometimes none. EVERY TIME.

I just had to get that out. Ugh >.<

Might possibly be your internet/connection to the server. I know for a fact that if used correctly, the use of rod can win almost every fight. I know, personally, I simply cannot rod, and attempting causes me to lose valuable time in order to get the first hit. I just tend to strafe. Also, another idea may be to use the turn and bow trick (If you know what it is).

So if you wish to get better at the rod without ruining your ratio if you care about it of course, would be to create a single player world, and practice rodding mobs while running at them. Or alternatively, watch some tips and tricks videos on YouTube.

Well, it most likely is your internet connection, or just server lag, as Evil_Emo stated.

Sometimes I'll be on a server and my rod won't even come out.

If it happens for an extended amount of time, try doing some research, or keep trying different things.

How many bars do you get to the server? If you have under 4, that could be the issue.

There are many things that could contribute to this, such as your latency (ping) to the server, or maybe it's just a special bug that only you have encountered. For now, I would just try to avoid use of the rod until you can sort it out. Sorry to hear about this :c
