Sometimes, things cannot be much lower than $10 due to tax. I used to play on a server where the owner lived in Canada - this combined with many other things made it so a $5 donation feature would make him lose money on each purchase (I know nothing about how the taxes/whatever works, I've never had to deal with stuff like that yet myself, this is just what I've been told.) This may not be anywhere near the case here - but do consider that taxes/the like could have a play in it...the profit for a 10 dollar donation feature still isn't amazing, any lower and it would be almost pointless to even have the feature available.

All that aside, though: I was a user just like you in the past. I thought that it was near impossible to get into the servers without donor...then I learned better. My first 200 wins were without donor, somehow I managed for a while - you just need to find a method that works for you. Even with that, though, I still found $10 far worth it for a month of joining easily, since I played here for hours on end. Not expensive at all in my opinion. (Key word - opinion. I can understand under certain circumstances that it may not seem worth it to you - but I have never seen an unhappy donor yet.)

But the thing is, almost everyone pays on Xbox live, only a portion of this community donates

You aren't considering the fact that much of this community is kids that cannot donate - it's also a lot easier to beg your parents to give Microsoft money than it is to give "some random website" money. ("Some random website" referring to what the parents would see it as. At least they might recognize/trust Microsoft.)
Not to mention the fact that "Xbox Live", if I'm not mistaken, (could be horribly mistaken - I never use the Xbox laying in my corner. I'm more of a PC gamer. Completely disregard all this information if I appear to be uneducated in the subject.) is something you have to pay to have...of course all Xbox Live users you talk to paid, they had to or you wouldn't be talking to them. >.>

Anyway - this thread is starting to turn into flaming, which by replying to wonderwaffle right now, I am probably not helping with. (sorry guys, can't help myself. D: ) I am going to lock this thread so as to prevent farther flaming. If you wish to keep discussing the issue, private message me here on the forum.

Edit: As well, doing #ReqLock solves absolutely nothing. The thread will be locked when a mod sees fit, you do not need to tell them to lock it. If you see a thread that really needs dealt with, use the report feature and we'll get to it as soon as possible.
