Does this mean LeafyGreenTea could be a moderator in the future ._.
Our Minecraft servers are offline but we will keep this forum online for any community communication. Site permissions for posting could change at a later date but will remain online.
In my opinion, I do not think that people that have been previously banned (no matter what they did) should not allowed to be mod. To be mod, you'll need to have a clean ban record, and if MCSG staff give people that have been previously banned before Mod, it will probably give a bad reputation on the MCSG servers.
I won't state my opinion again because I've stated it a lot so if you want, read some of the previous comments c:.**UPDATE**While listening to the Staff Q&A Dave announced that v1 bans no longer count towards being able to apply for Moderator!
Well, all I'm doing is saying what my opinion is on the topic. And you have your opinion.I won't state my opinion again because I've stated it a lot so if you want, read some of the previous comments c:.
Hmm...Does this mean LeafyGreenTea could be a moderator in the future ._.
Every situation when looking over a potential moderator with past bans should be considered unique and not be judged to a certain "format".
People change. Nobody should be held against their petty decisions in a computer game for over a year. It isn't moral.
Having talked to Brandon numerous times before, and looking at his current community standing, it's clear enough that somebody of such high dedication should have their past ban overlooked. There's absolutely no point in holding that against somebody.
Being a senior moderator on ROXBOT for many months now, I've talked to many hackers first-hand and heard their story personally and from them. Sure, it could be a lie, but if somebody is willing to follow through with that lie on a long-term scale, it would prove they've at least changed their public image and are worthy of being considered for a staff position.
The 1 minute autobans don't count against mod applications.brandon i have a story even worse than yours.
when 1.7 came out, the practice server i used was still on 1.6, so i downloaded BSM to use only on that server so i could get used to the new sprint mechanics. Then i accidentally joined mcsg with it, getting autobanned for 60 seconds. Of all the ways to be stopped from applying for mod...
The average human, once put into a spot of authority, wouldn't even consider hacking in such a position. Especially if their offence was from at least half a year ago.
If after that ban he came onto the forums, became an active and helpful person, and decided he wants to help improve the servers; yeah, good for him, he can decide the fate of others and whether or not they can play even though he hacked.I think that is absurd. There are many cases in history and in minecraft where people have been bad, they're put in a spot of position and they only abuse the power. On a different but not unrelated note, imagine seeing a hacker, he was forcefield hacking and he killed you right when you should have won. Then imagine seeing him 6 months later in the moderator position, i'm sure you would be like "Good for him, he can decide the fate of others and whether or not they can play even though he hacked!"
