Good "arena" style maps like survival games?

So, I am looking for a good map with short ~1hour games like survival games and boundaries but which allows for some terraforming and building mining etc... A bit more of a natural minecraft experience. Is there a map/mod that exists like this that is played online at all?

The DeadWorkersParty mention a game that they've played a couple of times "Capture the Record" but it is labour intensive and takes many hours to play and you need lots of people with microphones + skype. I'd suggests browsing Minecraft Forums for servers advertising CTF games, some might allow block placement i'm not sure...
