Hey guys,

I was wondering is there anyway to improve hearing footsteps of other players? If you watch Huahwi, you would know that he can hear people coming near him from a pretty far distance away. Does it have to do with 7.1 Surround sound or something you download/do in Minecraft. Any help would be great because I am using a pretty good headset while playing(Bose QC 25)(Not to brag)(#gotthemforfreefromdadsoffice)

Thanks

You go to minecraft. And click music and sounds. Click how ever high you want the volume for master volume.

As of what I know, there is no place where you can set the volume of footsteps only, you can only increase the game sounds.

I can hear footsteps from 15 blocks, I get called out for aimbot when I rapidly exit the chest and turn on him and kill him. I turned all Minecraft sounds to 100%, except for music. I have Master Vomume on 61% I think. I also have my computer sounds on 100%, it works for me, I guess you have to find your own sound settings that work for you.

So many people must not play with sounds because quite often I seem to be able to sneak up on people without them reacting. It's not overly hard to hear just turn your sounds up and remember to listen whenever you are standing still crafting or opening a chest.

The better your headset, the better you'll be able to hear the footsteps. If you dont want to be snuck up apon I would turn up player sounds and lower the rest, that way damage and footsteps are played higher then the rest.

I honestly never play with my sounds on as I am always talking to people either on Teamspeak or Skype and I want to turn my game volume down so I can hear them. But what maybe the odd time if I am making a recording I might decide to turn my volume up a little higher just so I can possibly hear footsteps. It doesn't always work, but sometimes I can hear them :)

Its called Surround Sound. 7.1 means like 7 places sound can come from, same with 5.1. If you have a compatible headset, then great!
