How do you deal with cocky players?

With cocky folks, I still try to be nice. Most of the time I get cursed out or something.
Usually they die sometime in-game, but I kill them [mostly] every other time.

One time, I had just killed some cocky team. Except for one person. They were being sad and such, looking down, and being the non-bloodthirsty killer I am now, I let him go. He was with me at DM. He looked at me and asked to team. I didn't acknowledge him (that way he might still team with me ;D). He said something like, "Okay : )," and proceeded to attack me.
Never give mercy to people.

Its not pronounced its how its typed. And it wasn't a flame war. It was material that could become a flame war. The spark really never ignited.

One time, I was on Avaricia and a guy said there was no possible way he could lose on that map. We ran the same route bit I got there first, got stacked and killed him.

The next round, it's the same map and he's there again. He beats me to the route, but while he's crafting I killed him. The next round I see him again. When it's Avaricia, he doesn't say anything and I kill him on the route again.

I generally try and pull them into situations where I clearly have the advantage, like in water if I have a bow and arrows or in small spaces
