I'd like to get into catching hackers on these servers, but I'm really bad at telling when someone's using forcefield or aimbot. So far I've been able to catch and report some of the more obvious hacks like extreme speed or fast breaking leaves, but I'm not sure if most of my deaths are from a really fast combo from someone with good aim or someone using forcefield. I've heard from some people that forcefield spins your head randomly or something, but I'm not sure what the telltale signs of aimbot/forcefield are.

I'd upload a lot more hacker reports if I knew. Can anyone help?

Yeah, that's pretty much the only type of hacker I've been able to catch. Whoever does that should be banned for pure stupidity. :p

I'm talking about the kind of hacks that just help with pvp, like aimbot and forcefield. No knockback and regen not so much since there's obvious giveaways for that like flint/steel extinguishing really fast and not being knocked back no matter how much they're sprint hit. But I'm not sure what those signs are for aimbot/forcefield. I've heard some people say they're really easy to see but I can't really tell the difference.

If you see anyone like this, they're probably not hacking. It's most likely just lag.

But, in seriousness, if you suspect someone of hacks, be it forcefield, aimbot, regen, etc., try recording them. An easy way to tell if someone is using aimbot is by watching their head. If you constantly strafe around them, and their head keeps snapping awkwardly, it's most likely aimbot. For regen, try setting the suspect on fire, if the fire lasts for 2 ticks instead of 8, they're regen hacking.

Edit: I was writing this post before your last post, therefore my regen hack tip is now obsolete. Anyway, with forcefield users, try to get them to fight a team, if there is one. Forcefielders can usually hit 2 or more people at the same time, making it look extremely obvious.

That. Was. Amazing. :D

Anyways, that seems like a good tip. Would their body also be making strange turns or does it look like their head isn't connected by the neck?

Thanks. :p Also, when I witness it it's usually their body turning around rapidly. What exactly do you mean by "head isn't connected by the neck?"? Like their head is derping around like crazy? Usually they can look almost straight up into the air and still get every hit.

I mean, like, I've seen some cases where the body is facing 1 direction while the head is facing a different one. Don't remember if this was in the 1.7 era or long before. Like, say their head faces backwards towards you while their body moves forward away from you. I'm pretty sure this might mean hacking, but not sure if hacked clients still do this. Or maybe I'm remembering wrong.

I have to say Im not very good at catching hackers but I can tell when they're head is snapping up and they are not missing a hit, getting triple or even quadruple hits on you. Aimbot hackers are easy if you have a team mate. My team mate charged him and the hacker was looking at him and hitting me with arrows.

I'm the worst at catching hackers. Why?

Because everytime I die that person who killed me is a hacker.

One of the biggest giveaways for aim based hacks is quick reactions, so try getting behind them and see how their client reacts. If it takes a second or so for them to swivel around and hit you, it probably isn't anything. If they track you instantly as you get behind them, it's aimbot. If they keep hitting you without even turning around, it's forcefield.
