Hunger Games food glitch?

I find it nearly impossible to play Survival Games when my food is constantly dropping i ate 2 golden carrots one games (most saturated food in minecraft) and lost 3 hunger in 1 minute its really stupid can you please tell me if its the survival games plugin or is it minecraft 1.7?

It is a feature in Minecraft 1.7, and it is not a bug.
